Over 793,540 hectares of agricultural production

According to the survey and preliminary statistics of the Institute of Agricultural Environment, the current agricultural production of Lam Dong has a very large scale with a total cultivated area of over 793,540 hectares (rounded data). Of which, 224,000 hectares are cultivated with grain crops, nearly 106,500 hectares of vegetables and flowers, more than 393,300 hectares of industrial crops and 79,800 hectares of fruit trees. In addition, in the field of livestock, the whole province has nearly 1.5 million cattle and over 15.8 million poultry. Lam Dong's forests alone have a total area of over 1.1 million hectares...

From the above data, it can be seen that Lam Dong's agricultural landscape extends from the highlands down to the coastal plains, integrating favorable conditions in terms of agricultural resources. In particular, the diversity of terrain, climate, and soil creates different ecological zones for crops, livestock, etc., leading to richer and more diverse agricultural products than other provinces. These are temperate agricultural products on the Lam Vien plateau or the vast semi-highland red basalt soil plateau... to the tropical monsoon coastal region.

Accounts for 27.26% of economic structure

It is easy to identify products with unique advantages of the temperate ecological zone specializing in the production of vegetables, flowers, strawberries, tea, medicinal plants, cold-water fish farming and high-quality dairy farming... The semi-highland basalt red soil ecological zone produces large quantities of coffee, pepper, rice, and fruit trees. The arid coastal region has advantages in the production of dragon fruit, grapes, apples, asparagus, melons and the raising of goats and sheep. Currently, localities in the province are promoting agricultural development, focusing on production in the direction of high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, and circular agriculture...

According to the report of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Finance, in the first 6 months of 2025, the growth rate of the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector increased by 5.14% over the same period, contributing significantly to the overall GRDP growth rate of the province, estimated to increase by 5.97% over the same period and accounting for 27.26% of the structure of Lam Dong's economy up to this point.

5.57% increase scenario

Lam Dong has set out tasks and solutions to successfully implement the 5.57% growth scenario for the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector in the last 6 months of 2025 to complete the 5.44% growth plan for the whole year, thereby contributing to the goal of ensuring GRDP growth in 2025 of Lam Dong's economy reaching 8% or more.

To achieve the above goals, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing specific tasks, mainly in the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishery. At the same time, it emphasizes the development of production and the promotion of programs and projects in 2025. In the immediate future, it is necessary to accelerate the progress of summer-autumn crop harvest, prepare the land for planting the winter-spring crop; take care of and harvest industrial crops and fruit trees; expand the development of high-tech production areas, increase the planting coefficient, improve productivity and output... At the same time, it is necessary to develop livestock and aquaculture in the direction of large-scale farms, biosafety to ensure that the set plan targets are achieved and exceeded.

On the other hand, the province also strengthens proactive solutions to effectively respond to climate change, prevent and combat natural disasters and protect the environment, especially closely monitoring weather, water resources, hydrometeorology to promptly respond and effectively overcome the damage caused by natural disasters, ensuring stable production, daily life and safety for people as well as ensuring water security. Strictly implement forest management and protection along with good implementation of the policy on payment for forest environmental services, expanding revenue from a number of other services...
