Ms. Ta Kieu Diem shared that after getting married, she mainly stayed at home to do housework. Having had a passion for baking since childhood, she still occasionally makes traditional cakes and jams to use at home and give to relatives and friends.

In 2017, with the encouragement of everyone and the desire to live her passion and have extra income, she decided to start a business making traditional cakes.

"Since I was little, my mother taught me how to make some traditional cakes and jams, and gradually I fell in love with them without realizing it. When I decided to start a business, I had to learn more, mainly online, to make cakes that are both beautiful and delicious, serving the needs of consumers," Ms. Diem shared.

At first, it was normal for a few batches of cakes to be spoiled and thrown away. Instead of getting discouraged, Ms. Diem spent time and effort to find out why the cakes were spoiled, and then learned from the experience to fix it.

"When you fail, you have to be determined to do it, find out what step you went wrong, and find the formula to create the perfect product. In general, there are countless difficulties in starting a business. There are many types of cakes on the market.

The most important thing is to create unique products with your own personal style to be able to compete. I think that with passion, you will overcome difficulties and achieve your goals," Ms. Diem shared.

In the early years of starting her business, the bean cakes, in cakes, jams, etc. made by Ms. Diem were sold to regular customers and neighbors. After that, her cakes such as banh bo, banh phu the, etc. were ordered by people for parties, engagements, weddings, and gradually expanded to the customer group of kindergartens and elementary schools located in the area.

"People see that the cakes are delicious, high quality, and do not use preservatives, so they recommend them to each other. Thanks to that, I have work to do every day, and my business is getting better and better. From the profits I have, I have invested in more machinery to make my baking more professional and effective," said Ms. Diem.

By 2022, Kieu Diem traditional jam production facility was officially established, marking a step forward in the entrepreneurial journey of this woman from Ca Mau . At that time, Ms. Diem's facility was also known to many people for its moon cake products.

According to Ms. Diem, although there are many types of moon cakes from famous brands on the market, many consumers still decide to choose products from Kieu Diem.

"Many customers praise the food for its deliciousness and reasonable prices. I do it myself and do business with all my heart, so people love and support me. This is also one of the things that helps the establishment grow," Ms. Diem shared.

Will utilize social networks to expand the market

Currently, Kieu Diem traditional confectionery production facility is creating jobs for 4-7 female workers with difficult circumstances in the locality. Ms. Ta Kieu Diem said that since starting her business, she has been busy with work every day, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year.

During the process of starting a business, Ms. Diem always received support from local authorities and Women's Unions at all levels. Through the activities of the Project "Supporting Women's Start-ups in the 2017-2025 period" (Project 939), she was able to participate in training courses on start-ups as well as participate in "Women's Creative Start-up Day" organized by the Commune Women's Union to introduce and promote products to a wide range of consumers.

At the same time, she was consulted and supported to invest in packaging, helping the product become more complete and impressive.

Ms. Diem said that in the near future, she will apply information technology to promote the facility's products on social networking platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok... with the goal of expanding the market.

"At this age, I also encounter certain difficulties when using social networks to promote products. But with my own efforts as well as the support of organizations and the Women's Union, I think I can do it.

The most important thing is not only expanding the market but also the desire to bring delicious, quality cakes to customers," the owner of the traditional cake and jam production facility Kieu Diem emphasized.

A representative of the Women's Union of Cai Doi Vam Commune (Ca Mau Province) said that Ms. Ta Kieu Diem's entrepreneurial journey not only helps develop the family economy , creates jobs for local female workers, but also contributes to preserving traditional cakes and jams.

The confectionery products of Kieu Diem traditional confectionery production facility are chosen by many consumers due to their good quality and reasonable price.
