The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a decision on the investment policy for the project to install additional fire prevention and fighting items on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line 2A.
According to Hanoi, the project investment goal is to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety for railway line 2A, promptly handle fires and explosions and support evacuation, and comply with fire prevention and fighting regulations according to Decree 136/2020/ND-CP.
The project will install automatic fire extinguishing systems at 12 stations and depot areas. Add smoke extraction systems to battery rooms and electrical rooms; ensure 2 independent smoke extraction systems for the stations.
The total investment of the project is more than 30 billion VND and will be implemented in 2025-2026 at 12 elevated stations and the Depot area of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line.

Hanoi assigned Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. as the investor responsible for project preparation, coordination with relevant departments and branches to ensure progress, savings and compliance with regulations. The Department of Construction is fully responsible before the law and the City People's Committee for the legality and accuracy of the appraisal documents.
The Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line is 13km long, has 12 elevated stations, and was put into commercial operation in November 2021. Each train consists of 4 carriages, carrying a maximum of 960 people, with a maximum operating speed of 80km/h and an average operating speed of 35km/h.
After 4 years of operation, this metro line is gradually attracting and being chosen by many people as a means of transportation. However, this metro line has also encountered many problems such as stopping in the middle of the road, faulty track markings, and air conditioning errors causing water to flow.
The latest controversy surrounding this metro line is the patching of holes and broken glass at some stations.
From August 1, the operator will apply new fares for the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line. After a 40% increase, the fare for passengers paying without cash to the first station is 8,595 VND/trip, the fare for all 12 stations is 18,625 VND/trip.
For passengers paying in cash, the fare to the first station is 9,000 VND, and to all 12 stations is 19,000 VND/trip.
