The Ministry of Health proposes many preferential policies related to population.

(DN) - On July 11, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the United Nations Population Fund in Vietnam to organize a rally in response to World Population Day (July 11) 2025 with the theme Reproductive autonomy in a changing world.

Ms. Dao Hong Lan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Health, emphasized that population is the most important factor in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Vietnamese law stipulates that each couple and individual has the right to decide on the time of giving birth, the number of children and the interval between births in accordance with the age, health status, conditions of study, work, work, income and child-rearing of the couple and individual on the basis of equality.

The Ministry of Health is developing the Population Law and the National Target Program on Health Care, Population and Development for the 2026-2035 period with the goal of ensuring social security, health and equality for all people based on the principle of taking people as the center, which is the goal of the country's sustainable development.

In the draft Population Law submitted to the Government for submission to the National Assembly at the upcoming 10th Session, there are a number of notable priorities regarding population work such as: preferential maternity leave; cash or in-kind support when giving birth; support for pregnant and postpartum women in prenatal and newborn screening; priority access to social housing support policies and other support appropriate to the socio-economic development situation of each period.

In addition, building and developing facilities to support and care for the elderly; regulating measures to implement pre-marital health consultation and examination for men and women; prenatal and neonatal screening, diagnosis, and treatment...
