Ms. Cil Bri - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions said that in the period of 2020 - 2025, major policies on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, support for ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been widely spread to every village and hamlet. Authorities at all levels have "gone to every alley, knocked on every door", combined with central and local press agencies to promptly bring policy information to the people.
Thanks to that, many good models, typical advanced examples, initiatives in production development, and building cultural life have been widely replicated. Along with that, propaganda forms are also increasingly innovated, suitable to the characteristics of each region and each ethnic group, helping people of all ethnic groups easily accept, trust and respond wholeheartedly.
In addition, to help cadres perform their role as “bridges”, the province regularly opens training courses on culture and customs of each ethnic community. Many cadres are also encouraged to learn ethnic minority languages to facilitate communication, mobilization and work with the people.
In addition, a database system on ethnic affairs has also been built, helping to centrally manage information and at the same time, becoming an effective channel for propagating policies and guidelines.
Every year, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion allocates funds to organize training for officials from the provincial to grassroots levels. Training content focuses on management, supervision, and operation skills, as well as methods of communicating policies in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement manner to the people.
Lam Dong province currently has 49 ethnic groups living together, with cultural and customary diversity, requiring propaganda work to be flexible, creative and approachable. Not only stopping at disseminating policies, propaganda activities also aim to change awareness, overcome the mentality of waiting and relying. At the same time, arouse the will of self-reliance, the desire to rise up and become rich legitimately of each citizen.
“With the results achieved, it can be affirmed that information and propaganda work is the key to creating social consensus, so that people understand - believe - follow. In the coming time, propaganda work continues to be an important driving force to help ethnic minorities in Lam Dong develop the economy , stabilize their lives and join hands to build a rich and beautiful homeland,” Ms. Cil Bri added.
Statistics from the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions show that in recent years, Lam Dong province has synchronously and effectively implemented many programs and policies for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the multidimensional poverty rate of the whole province will decrease to 3.33%. In addition to the policies of the Central Government, the province has also issued many specific policies such as: supporting investment in production development and forest protection contracting; policies to support ethnic minority students; interest rate support policies; social insurance payment support policies...
The synchronous and effective implementation of ethnic policies has contributed to changing the face of rural and mountainous areas, improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities. Therefore, in the coming time, along with overcoming difficulties, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will continue to coordinate with sectors and localities to promote propaganda and mobilization work, raise awareness and self-reliance of ethnic minorities, and arouse the aspiration to escape poverty and become rich legitimately.
