Tourism development in new rural construction is one of the 6 topics of the period 2021 - 2025. Rural tourism is considered a new driving force for new rural construction in Lam Dong .
Lam Dong has many potentials and advantages to develop tourism in the new rural areas such as natural conditions, climate, forests, seas, agricultural land, forestry land... The province has many scenic spots, historical relics, material and spiritual cultural values, and rural residents with highly traditional characteristics.
Developing rural tourism will help communes and wards achieve the goal of economic and labor restructuring, ensuring jobs and increasing income for people. The province builds typical tourism products in traditional villages and hamlets; tourist spots and routes connecting with Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.
Rural communes such as Lac Duong and Don Duong are increasingly developing many tourism models, with a system of hotels and homestays established by local people to serve rural tourism, attracting domestic and foreign tourists. In some areas specializing in high-tech vegetable and flower cultivation such as Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat, they have become favorite destinations for domestic and foreign tourists.

Along with tourism in the forest and highland areas, Lam Dong also has the advantage of sea tourism in building new rural areas in communes such as Tan Thanh, Hoa Thang and wards of La Gi, Phuoc Hoi, Mui Ne, Phu Quy special zone...
The province has developed and implemented pilot models for rural tourism development in the direction of “green, responsible and sustainable tourism”. Lam Dong has applied a number of mechanisms and policies to support rural tourism models in the direction of environmental friendliness, green economy, and circular economy. The province has supported the development of a number of agricultural and rural tourism chain models linking destinations and forming tours.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Khanh Hoa, Dak Nong Clean Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Dong Gia Nghia Ward, for many years now, the company has built a farm following the circular economy direction to combine development into an agricultural tourism destination. Businesses need to diversify, optimize products, and exploit intangible values such as rural agricultural tourism closely linked to the story of OCOP products, material culture, and the spirit of indigenous peoples...
Developing rural tourism in the construction of new rural areas in the period of 2025 - 2030 is expected by Lam Dong to change the mindset from agricultural production to agricultural and rural economic development. From there, it will contribute to supporting localities to effectively and sustainably implement new rural criteria, bringing new rural construction into more depth and substance.
By July 2025, the whole province will have 80 new rural communes (reaching 77.7%); 9 advanced new rural communes (reaching 8.7%); 3 model new rural communes (reaching 2.9%).
