| Businesses need to supplement the list of beneficial owners |
According to information from the Department of Finance, on June 17, 2025, the National Assembly passed Law No. 76/2025/QH15 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Enterprises, effective from July 1, 2025. In particular, it stipulates the addition of information on beneficial owners.
specifically, the Enterprise Law specifies that for newly established enterprises, the application for enterprise registration will include information about the beneficial owner of the enterprise (if any); for registered enterprises before the effective date of this Law, the addition of information about the beneficial owner of the enterprise (if any), information to identify the beneficial owner of the enterprise shall be carried out simultaneously at the time the enterprise carries out the procedure for registering changes to the enterprise registration content, notifying the latest requests change to the enterprise registration content, except in cases where the enterprise to supplement information earlier.
According to the representative of the Department of Finance, currently, many enterprises carry out procedures to change the contents of their business registration but have not updated the regulations on supplementing information on beneficial owners of enterprises. Therefore, the Department of Finance requires that when registering to establish an enterprise/registering to change the contents of its business registration, enterprises need to supplement the list of beneficial owners of the enterprise (if any); at the same time, update the forms used in business registration according to Circular No. 68/2025/TT-BTC dated July 1, 2025 of the Ministry of Finance .
