Finding clean vegetables and tubers to cook delicious, safe meals for her family is always a matter of concern for Ms. Vo Thi Anh Tuyet, in Dong Ha ward. Choosing to buy a bunch of water spinach and squash at Co.opmart Dong Ha supermarket, she shared: Recently, due to the confusion between "clean and dirty vegetables" in traditional markets, she has switched to going to supermarkets to buy food.
"Vegetables are an indispensable food in my family's daily meals. However, choosing the right clean vegetables and roots is quite difficult. I don't care much about the price, I just need the vegetables to have a clear origin and be guaranteed to be safe," said Ms. Tuyet.
Not only Ms. However, choosing to buy clean vegetables has become a common concern of housewives. Understanding this, many local cooperatives have boldly invested in producing this item.
Established in 2019, Dung Na Ecological Agricultural Cooperative, Dong Trach Commune currently has a total of 9 members, specializing in the production of clean vegetables and tubes. On an area of more than 3 hectares, in recent years, the unit has invested in an irrigation system, making efforts to grow and supply the market with dozens of tons of vegetables and tubes of all kinds.
"Cleanliness is always our top priority. Therefore, members always strictly adhere to the product process to ensure the supply of the freshest and safest products to the market. In addition, Dung Na Ecological Agriculture Cooperative has invested in a basic system of greenhouses and automatic irrigation, thereby contributing to improving the productivity and quality of agricultural products," said Duong Van Sanh, Director of Dung Na Ecological Agriculture Cooperative.

The production of clean vegetables at Dung Na Ecological Agricultural Cooperative is maintained year-round to serve the needs of some kindergartens, retail supermarkets and people in the communes: Dong Trach, Hoan Lao, Dong Hoi ward and the South of Quang Tri .
Overcoming difficulties caused by weather or market prices, clean vegetables and tubers of Dung Na Ecological Agriculture Cooperative have so far created a solid "position" in the hearts of consumers in the context of dirty food appearing everywhere in the market; creating jobs and a stable source of income for members.
Dong Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative, Dong Ha Ward has long been “famous” for its safe vegetable production model. Thanks for training and guidance on how to sow seeds, use fertilizers, and eradicating pests, 27 member households of this cooperative have now successfully implemented clean vegetable and root production on a total area of 95 hectares, including 45 hectares for the winter-spring crop.
Ms. Ho Thi Quy, a member of the cooperative, said: "We understand that the production of clean vegetables not only brings health to consumers but also directly affects us, the farmers. Therefore, to grow clean vegetables and tubers, we must ensure that we follow the trained process."
Every day, the concentrated garden of Dong Thanh Agricultural Service Cooperative supplies the market with dozens of tons of clean vegetables and fruits. According to the director of the Cooperative, Pham Van Quan, growing clean vegetables and fruits not only requires a large investment cost, but also the determination and perseverance of farmers. Because currently, clean vegetables and fruits are competing with vegetables and fruits of unclear origin in the market, partly due to consumer habits.
"Clean vegetables and fruits do not look appealing, but their selling price is higher than similar products produced by conventional methods. Not to mention the important factor is the weather. If the weather is not favorable, people can lose everything. However, the cooperative's leadership always strives to pursue the goal of producing clean vegetables and fruits to meet the needs and ensure the long-term health of local people," Mr. Quan affirmed.
It is known that the whole province currently has about 30 cooperatives specializing in growing clean agricultural products. Despite facing difficulties and challenges, this product is and will open up great opportunities for businesses and cooperatives to increase investment. It is time for the production and trading of clean vegetables and fruits to receive due attention from society, to bring a worthy position for clean vegetables and fruits to protect the interests and health of consumers.
