Many Brazilian businesses want to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam.

Brazilian businesses in the fields of food, biofuels, aerospace and agriculture expressed their desire to cooperate more with Vietnam when meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

On July 6 (local time), during his working trip to attend the expanded BRICS Summit in Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked with a number of leading local businesses.

Receiving the leader of JBS - the world's leading corporation in the field of food processing - the Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to be the gateway for JBS to enter the ASEAN region and Northeast Asian countries such as China.

He hopes that the group will strengthen cooperation with domestic partners to bring products to Vietnamese and regional consumers. In addition, bring Vietnamese agricultural products to the Brazilian market and JBS's global market network, making the most of Vietnam's 17 FTAs ​​with more than 60 leading economies in the world.

With information that Vietnam is promoting negotiations towards signing FTAs ​​with Brazil and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked JBS to contribute to promoting this process, thereby also creating conditions for the group to operate more effectively and continue to expand production and business in Vietnam.

Appreciating the initiative and goodwill of cooperation from FS - a pioneering biofuel group in Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is gradually implementing an energy transition strategy and aiming for net zero emissions by 2050.

Welcoming the proposal of FS on establishing an exchange mechanism between the Vietnamese and Brazilian Governments on biofuels, the Prime Minister assigned relevant agencies of Vietnam to discuss and study the establishment of an exchange and cooperation mechanism between the two Governments in this field.

He suggested that FS share its experience in biofuel production and strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, including the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group, to transfer technology, thereby supporting Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the global biofuel value chain, as well as supporting Vietnam to access E10 gasoline at a reasonable price, competitive with the international market.

In particular, research for the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group to cooperate with FS to invest in ethanol production in Vietnam or in Brazil.

Receiving Mr. Jose Serrador Neto, global vice president of Embraer - the world's third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam and Brazil have agreed to strengthen aviation cooperation.

Embraer's new generation of commercial aircraft can be the solution to help Vietnamese airlines develop sustainable fleets, improve operational efficiency, and ensure flight safety.

Stating that Vietnam has many advantages to develop the aviation sector and is strongly developing this type of transport, the Prime Minister suggested that Embraer research and continue to discuss with Vietnamese partners such as Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Viettel... to move towards specific cooperation activities, bringing practical benefits to both sides.

Including promoting the opening of direct flights between Vietnam and Brazil, developing the aviation and aerospace ecosystem in Vietnam, researching, transferring technology, forming aircraft maintenance centers, and human resource training centers in Vietnam.

Agreeing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's opinion, Mr. Jose Serrador Neto hopes to create conditions for the group to cooperate long-term with Vietnamese partners. He also said that Embraer will actively contribute to the negotiation and signing process of the FTA, the agreement on encouragement and protection of investment between Vietnam and Brazil and the FTA between Vietnam and MERCOSUR.

Also on July 6, the Prime Minister received Mr. Wiliam Shuhei Fujikura, director of Granja Fujikura Company, about the high-tech farm, part of the system of the same name originating from Japan. This company is currently cooperating with Trong Khoi Company to develop quail farming in the Vietnamese and Asian markets.

At the meeting, the leaders of Granja Fujikura Company hoped that the Vietnamese Government, ministries, branches and localities would create conditions for effective cooperation in Vietnam, not only in quail farming but also in developing large-scale high-tech agriculture.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the cooperation between Granja Fujikura Company and Vietnamese enterprises and said that he has set a target of striving to export agricultural, forestry and fishery products to reach 100 billion USD in the coming years.

To achieve these goals, the Vietnamese Government is committed to resolving sectoral issues such as institutions, policies, human resources, land and creating conditions for private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises to develop and export agricultural products.

He hopes that Granja Fujikura will strengthen cooperation with domestic partners to bring the company's products to Vietnamese and regional consumers, as well as bring Vietnamese agricultural products to the Brazilian market and the company's global market network.
