Of the 81 deaths, 68 were in Kerr County, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said at a press conference Sunday afternoon. Of the victims, 40 were adults and 28 were children, including 18 adults and 10 children who have not yet been identified.
At least 10 campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic remain missing, Sheriff Leitha said. This is the first official count of the number of people missing at the camp, after an estimate on Saturday that as many as 27 people could be missing. About 750 children were attending Camp Mystic before the flooding.

Large scale disaster
President Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social on July 6 that he had just signed a Major Disaster Declaration for Kerr County, Texas, to ensure that first responders have the resources they need immediately and that the federal government is working closely with state and local leaders.
President Trump said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was on the scene on July 5, along with Governor Greg Abbott, to assist Texans. The U.S. Coast Guard and other first responders in the state rescued more than 850 people.

Catastrophic flooding occurred in Central Texas on the 249th anniversary of America's Independence Day, when the Guadalupe River rose about 6-8 meters in just 90 minutes, causing serious damage and forcing many people in the Texas Hill Country to evacuate.
Earlier, Texas Governor Greg Abbott declared a state of emergency in 14 counties in the state. Greg Abbott said authorities were working through the night to direct search and rescue efforts.
More than 850 people have been rescued in the past 36 hours, with search teams using helicopters, boats and drones to find victims and save those trapped in trees or in isolated camps.
In March, President Trump also issued a Major Disaster Declaration for areas of Texas affected by severe storms and flooding.
