Vietnam affirms commitment and strategic direction at UEFA/AFC Women's Football Development Workshop

From July 7 to 11, the Women's Football Development Conference was held in Geneva (Switzerland) organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The conference brought together representatives from 5 Asian football federations, including Vietnam, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Lebanon and Uzbekistan.

At the workshop, the Vietnamese delegation presented the Vietnam Women's Football Development Strategy, with specific directions and activities implemented in the first half of 2025. Notably, the organization of a C-AFC Coaching Training Course specifically for Women's Football Coaches as well as the launching ceremony of the Vietnam Women's Football Development Strategy in Hanoi with the participation of representatives from FIFA, AFC, representatives of state management agencies on sports , functional departments of the Vietnam Football Federation, clubs and many domestic media agencies.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation affirmed the strong commitment of the Vietnam Football Federation to the development of Vietnamese women's football and thanked UEFA and AFC for accompanying and supporting Vietnam in the process of building this strategy.

In the coming time, according to the plan, the Vietnam Football Federation will continue to carry out activities related to promoting the development of women's football. Including conducting a survey on licensing for women's football clubs, organizing a Women's Football Festival in a Central province in September to spread the movement, as well as a plan to work in some southern provinces to build and develop the women's football movement in this region.

This workshop focused on many important contents such as: Sharing UEFA's program to support the above 5 Federations in developing grassroots football, school football for girls, visiting women's football clubs in Geneva, Switzerland, learning about the standards for building national teams and supporting federations in establishing long-term development plans for women's teams.

The active participation of the Vietnam Football Federation at the workshop once again demonstrated its determination and clear direction in developing women's football, aiming for sustainability and approaching regional and world standards.
