Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Comrade To Huy Vu - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank affirmed: The economic and political situation in the first 6 months of 2025 has opened up many positive opportunities for the banking industry in general and Agribank in particular. However, besides the advantages, the first 6 months of 2025 also pose challenges, requiring flexible and effective responses from the Vietnamese banking system in general and Agribank in particular. In that context, closely following the Government's instructions, the State Bank's policies on currency and banking credit activities; The Board of Members and the Executive Board with unity and determination have directed the entire system to unite, make efforts, and resolutely implement breakthrough solutions to complete the goals in the Agribank Restructuring Plan for the period 2021-2025. Agribank's business activities in the first 6 months of 2025 have achieved positive results, recognized and highly appreciated by the Government and the State Bank.
At the Conference, Comrade Pham Toan Vuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Members, General Director of Agribank presented a report on business results in the first 6 months of the year and deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.
The business performance of the entire system in the first 6 months of the year achieved positive results compared to the same period last year, reaching the highest level after 4 years of implementing the Restructuring Plan associated with bad debt settlement in the period 2021-2025. Right from the beginning of 2025, Agribank promptly issued important documents in governance, comprehensively directing the entire system to implement key tasks and solutions in 2025, focusing on breakthrough, drastic and urgent solutions under the direction of the Party, National Assembly and Government, contributing to completing the GDP growth target of over 8%.
In addition, Agribank's leadership has worked directly with units in the system, promptly grasped and directed business activities, and resolved difficulties and problems for the units. By June 30, 2025, Agribank's mobilized capital reached over VND 2.1 million billion, up 6.4% compared to the beginning of the year, the highest since 2021, of which residential deposits accounted for a large proportion. Agribank's capital grew steadily, meeting customers' demand for loans to develop production and business, capital use efficiency was improved, ensuring safety ratios according to regulations of the State Bank. Agribank's outstanding loans to the economy reached over VND 1.85 million billion, up 7.6% compared to the beginning of the year, higher than the same period in 2024. Of which, outstanding loans to agriculture and rural areas reached over VND 1.13 million billion, accounting for over 61% of total outstanding loans.
Agribank promptly resolved difficulties, increased access to capital for people and businesses; reduced costs and reduced lending interest rates to support customers. Agribank also promptly implemented 13 credit programs/products with a scale of VND 400 trillion to boost credit growth from the beginning of the year; increased the scale and expanded the scope of the Credit Program for the agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors to VND 20,000 billion. Agribank has been effectively implementing 7 policy credit programs and the national target program on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction... As the lifeblood of the economy, the main capital channel serving production and business, especially in the agricultural and rural sectors, Agribank has contributed to promoting the transformation of local economic structure, gradually improving the lives and realizing the dreams of getting rich of people on their homeland. Agribank's capital has been supporting large-scale agricultural production models, high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, developing raw material areas associated with deep processing, agricultural product linkage chains, enhancing added value and competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.

Unstable economic and social factors have significantly affected production and business activities in general and the banking sector in particular. Under the close direction of the Government, the State Bank, the Party Committee, and the Board of Directors of Agribank, together with the consensus and outstanding efforts of the entire system, Agribank has exceeded its annual business targets, maintaining stable growth and sustainable development.

Concluding the Conference, Comrade To Huy Vu - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Agribank highly appreciated the proactive spirit, efforts and responsibility of units, officers and employees of the whole system with encouraging results; at the same time, pointed out the key solutions that need to be implemented to comprehensively complete the business plan targets for 2025.
With the spirit of high determination and solidarity to overcome difficulties of the entire system, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Members believes that Agribank will fully complete the set goals in 2025; affirm Agribank's position as a leading financial institution, playing a key role in investing in the development of the agricultural economy, farmers and rural areas, contributing to the prosperous development of the agricultural and rural areas; promote the comprehensive financial strategy; pioneer in green and sustainable development and strongly commit to digital transformation. He also requested that branch leaders and units need to transform the orientations into specific actions, commit to serious implementation and report results regularly, and request the Head Office to continue to increase support and create maximum conditions for units to complete their tasks.
In the last 6 months of 2025, promoting the achieved results, the entire system will closely follow the direction of the Government, the State Bank, the Agribank Party Committee and the Board of Members, continue to focus all resources, determination, solidarity, flexibility to seriously and drastically implement solutions, successfully complete the set goals; continue to affirm the position and brand of Vietnam's leading commercial bank, the main investor in developing the agricultural economy, farmers, and rural areas, making important contributions to the country's economic development.
