On the evening of June 22, in Thai Son commune, Ham Yen district ( Tuyen Quang ), a Hyundai Santa Fe car carrying 5 people, including children, was swept away by floodwaters.

At around 10 p.m., the male driver was driving on National Highway 2. When he reached km32 in Thai Son commune, he encountered several deeply flooded areas due to prolonged heavy rain.
Locals instructed the driver to take the bypass in village 2 to bypass the flooded area. However, the driver did not follow the locals' instructions and instead chose the route shown on the Google Maps application, leading to the spillway in village 1.
When reaching km33, passing through village 1, the car was suddenly swept away by floodwaters. There were 5 people on board, including 3 adults and 2 children. The car was swept about 200m downstream and only stopped when it got stuck in a bamboo bank area along the road.
Fortunately, a young man who happened to be passing by discovered the incident and called for help. Thanks to the timely support, all 5 people in the car were brought to shore safely, no one was injured.
As of the morning of June 23, the vehicle involved in the accident was still waiting for the water to recede so that authorities could salvage it. Meanwhile, the route from km34 to km35 in Thai Son commune has reopened, and vehicles can move slowly due to the slight water level.
On June 21 and 22, Tuyen Quang province experienced continuous heavy rains, causing floods on the river and stream systems. In this situation, people are advised to be vigilant and absolutely not move through underground areas, spillways, and dams when the water level rises to avoid danger to life.
