Thanh Thuy District Women's Union participates in "Women's Creative Startup Day" in 2025, promoting typical products of members in the district.
The joint group raising commercial hybrid chickens in Tu Vu commune is one of the joint groups supported by the Women's Union at all levels with loans to establish and develop the model. The group was established in December 2020 with 7 members participating, receiving support of 70 million (10 million for each woman), of which the Provincial Women's Union supported 50 million VND, the District Women's Union supported 20 million VND from the fund to support women starting a business. When they first started raising chickens, each household raised 500 chickens, but now, households have increased their flocks from 500 to 5,000 chickens. Each year, the income is from 60 to 90 million VND/household/year.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Viet, in Zone 19, a member of the commercial hybrid chicken farming association, said: In the past, my family only raised chickens on a small scale, and did not have enough capital and knowledge, so the economic efficiency was not high. In 2020, with the attention and financial support from the District Women's Union, I registered to join the group to be equipped with more knowledge and skills in caring for commercial chickens and to receive support in selling products. Thanks to that, my family's chicken flock has developed well, bringing high economic efficiency. Currently, my family raises 5,000 chickens, earning nearly 80 million VND in profit each year.
With the aim of arousing the creativity of women in production and business, every year, the District Women's Union focuses on raising awareness of entrepreneurship and business start-ups for its members. The Union grasps the aspirations and wishes of its members and women who want to start a business and start a business to support them in accessing loans managed by the Union, especially households in difficult circumstances to develop the economy. Currently, the Union manages 62 loan groups of 11 communes and towns with a total outstanding loan of over 104 billion VND for 2,192 households; the provincial fund to support poor women with an outstanding loan of over 4.6 billion VND for 397 member households in Tu Vu and Hoang Xa communes; the TYM fund disburses 1.3 billion VND for 23 members to borrow for economic development in Dong Trung commune...
In addition, the Association also coordinates to organize training courses on transferring science and technology, fostering knowledge, skills, and vocational training for members and women. From 2018 to present, the Association at all levels has coordinated to open 67 vocational training courses on food processing, sewing, reception, tea care and processing techniques, mushroom growing, clean vegetable growing... for 2,256 students; training on transferring science and technology on planting, caring for, and preventing pests and diseases for crops for over 16,000 female members; 3 training courses on knowledge and capacity building on tourism culture for over 650 association officials and members; supporting women to start businesses and introduce products at the "Women's Entrepreneurship Festival" organized annually by the Provincial Women's Union... In addition, the Association at all levels mobilizes and guides women to develop startup ideas/projects to participate in the "Women's Creative Entrepreneurship" contest; support members in consuming products, registering OCOP products, writing articles to introduce safe products of members, women... At the same time, support the establishment of cooperatives, economic development association groups/teams. Currently, the Association has supported the establishment of 1 Tu Vu grapefruit business cooperative; 1 "Climbing trellis" cooperative; 3 groups linking livestock and fruit tree planting.
The implementation of various activities to support women in starting a business and developing the family economy by the Thanh Thuy District Women's Union has contributed to awakening the spirit, potential and creativity of women, thereby empowering many women to change their thinking, boldly innovate, overcome challenges to start a business, assert themselves and develop the family economy.
