Farmers' Association members of Phuc Thang commune (Nghia Hung) produce OCOP products of black sticky rice wine and buried chicken eggs. |
The Associations at all levels have coordinated to organize and widely implement the OCOP program; promoted propaganda and raised awareness among cadres, members and farmers about the goals, meanings and contents of the program through activities of branches, groups, farmer clubs or conferences, seminars, training and other communication channels. 100% of the Associations' bases have propagated to members about safe agricultural production associated with typical products, OCOP products, and guided farming households to sign commitments to ensure safe production. In most localities in the province, farmers have changed their production thinking towards organic agriculture, clean agriculture according to safe quality standards, meeting the increasingly high demands of the market, while contributing to increasing income and value on cultivated areas. In addition, the Farmers' Association at all levels has mobilized and guided farmers to consolidate land plots, build production linkage chains according to the planning of concentrated specialized areas, bring mechanization into production; apply scientific and technical advances, new technologies in product preservation and processing. Farmers' Associations at all levels also support members to borrow capital from the Farmers' Support Fund to invest in production development, with priority given to households producing OCOP products and production linkage models. Up to now, the total source of the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels in the province is managing over 39 billion VND, lending to 229 projects with 902 borrowers. The whole province has also built 459 "Large Field" models with a total area of 21,037 hectares, of which 4,000 hectares are guaranteed products; formed 39 models of linking production organization, consumption of agricultural products according to the value chain and concentrated specialized production areas for high economic efficiency.
Through the above activities, farmers have been encouraged to promote their internal strength, exploit the potential and advantages of each locality, create value chains and brands for agricultural products, aiming to achieve OCOP criteria. Farmers' Associations at all levels also focus on promoting and supporting farmers to participate in booths introducing safe agricultural products, key products, and OCOP products of the province at fairs of the Central Association and other provinces... Typically, the Farmers' Association of Truc Ninh district cooperated with Hien Thuc facility, Truc Thai commune to launch the "Safe agricultural products store" specializing in providing organic agricultural products from Hien Thuc livestock farm, which are inspected for food hygiene and safety and products that meet VietGAP and OCOP standards in and outside the district. The Farmers' Association of Hai Hau district established Thanh Hoa safe agricultural products store, providing the market with safe products produced by members of the Hai Thanh livestock and aquaculture cooperative such as: 3-star OCOP duck eggs, all kinds of commercial chicken and duck, traditionally raised shrimp, fish, snails, vegetables and fruits without using pesticides; at the same time, introducing OCOP products of the district and traditional products of the communes. The Farmers' Association of Giao Thuy district coordinated with the district's Agricultural Service Center to display, introduce and sell many OCOP certified products and local specialties such as: clams, fish cakes, steamed and dried shrimp, dried shrimp, Sa Chau fish sauce, mangrove honey of Xuan Thuy National Park... to widely promote the products to consumers. Most of the district's OCOP products are processed from rich and diverse raw materials available locally, made by farmers, fishermen, salt farmers, members of cooperatives and enterprises. In particular, Dinh Moc circular agricultural economic cooperative in Giao Tan commune focuses on agricultural production according to high-quality circular processes, with 8 products achieving 3-star OCOP. Tuan Hiep mushroom and handicraft cooperative in Hong Thuan commune has 6 provincial-level OCOP products, 3-star class. Khang Tuong cooperative in Giao An commune has 5 3-star OCOP products. In Nam Truc district, Farmers' Associations at all levels regularly disseminate to members about safe agricultural production associated with typical and strong local agricultural products; guide farmers to sign commitments to ensure safe production; select product ideas, and register products to participate in the OCOP program. Thanks to that, farmer members in the district have had many typical OCOP products such as: "Nam Toan ancient bonsai camellia" of Nam Dien commune; "Black bean sprout tea - red brown rice" and "Red brown rice sprout tea" of Nam Hung commune; "Nam Hoa wine", "Plum wine", "Cordyceps wine", "Oak wine", "Mulberry wine" of Nam Hoa commune; dried banana, Nam Bao nutritious cereal, green banana resistant starch of Nam Loi commune... By June 2025, the province had recognized 604 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, including 1 5-star product, 3 potential 5-star products, 68 4-star products and 532 3-star products; an increase of 75 products compared to 2024. The majority of participants in the program are farmer members. Many products such as Toan Xuan rice, Lenger clam meat, Co Chat silk, etc. have been exported to demanding markets such as Europe and Japan. The value of products after being recognized as OCOP increased by 10-30%, sales grew by 5-20%/year, becoming an important driving force to promote sustainable development of farmer households' economy.
From the achieved results, the Farmers' Associations at all levels in the province continue to propagate and mobilize cadres, members and farmers to participate in the implementation of the OCOP program; promote support for members in terms of seeds, capital, transfer of scientific and technical advances, new technology, application of advanced production processes, product management according to quality standards... so that more and more products meet OCOP criteria.
