Recently, Thanh Sen Vi and Giam Folk Song Club had a successful performance, leaving an impression in Korea. This is a "gift" from Ha Tinh homeland to the people of the kimchi land and our overseas Vietnamese living in Korea.
Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs have been formed for many generations through the rhythm of production and daily life. Over the years, Vi and Giam melodies have gradually become a unique cultural feature, closely associated with the community life of Ha Tinh and Nghe An people. From bustling village festivals, traditional cultural festivals to community activities, Vi and Giam folk songs have become indispensable spiritual food, preserved, cherished and passed down through many generations.
With such unique values, Vi and Giam folk songs have been developed into special products by many tourism businesses. Since 2017, Song Ngu Son Joint Stock Company has organized a cruise tour of Giang Dinh ancient boat on Lam River, combining Vi and Giam performances of Nghe Tinh, bringing visitors profound and sweet cultural experiences. Currently, this tour is increasingly attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
Ha Tinh Travel Company is expanding international cooperation, signing contracts with tourism partners in Korea, Laos, and Thailand, contributing to spreading Vi and Giam melodies far and wide. Cultural exchange programs not only strengthen international connections, but also open up opportunities to promote Ha Tinh tourism. Domestically, many Vi and Giam tours are also organized at famous tourist destinations, leaving a deep impression on visitors.
“Bringing Nghe Tinh folk songs to perform in Korea is part of the strategy to build a unique local tourism culture. We design a tour to perform abroad, not only to serve overseas Vietnamese and international friends but also to promote our unique culture to the world," said Mr. Nguyen Quang Thao - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Travel Company.

However, besides remarkable efforts, this art form still faces many difficulties in spreading strongly in modern life. Although recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the integration of Vi and Giam into tourism products is still inconsistent and has not yet fully exploited its potential.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong - Vice Chairman of Thach Ha District People's Committee said: "Although the district and the province are very interested in the Vi and Giam folk song clubs, they have not yet met the conditions to ensure the clubs operate well. The clubs mainly maintain their activities spontaneously. To promote cultural values and link with tourism development, there needs to be more timely support policies from all levels."
The Vietnamese folk songs are the soul of the homeland, a priceless asset left by our ancestors. Their role as a unique tourism product needs to be clearly defined and integrated into professional, long-term tours.
At the same time, promotion and communication activities must be strengthened, building the brand "Ha Tinh - cultural destination" associated with folk songs that have touched the hearts of people through many generations. More than ever, it is necessary to do a good job of preserving Vi and Giam folk songs. In addition, there should be policies for artists and Vi and Giam folk song clubs. Only then will there be resources to develop tourism, bringing visitors an interesting form of experience.
