In the musical, the spirit and ideology of the Vietnamese national leader covers the entire nation and all classes of people, expressed through each person and character in the work. They are nameless heroes. The character representing the petty bourgeoisie in this work is based on a real historical figure. As early as the end of 2024, the Korean creative team began working with the Vietnam Drama Theater to implement the "Banh Mi Cafe" project in time to launch to the audience on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Director Cho Joon Hui believes that the Vietnamese people are a very strong, peace-loving people and only a strong people can forgive their enemies, those who oppressed and caused their people to suffer. That spirit will also be shown in this musical.

The musical “Banh Mi Café” reflects the seething atmosphere of the days before the August Revolution of the Vietnamese people. The play has a realistic social context of Vietnam during the painful, famine-filled war years and praises the patriotic people, including the great contribution of the petty bourgeoisie who devoted not only money but also sacrificed their lives to join the resistance and the revolution.
