VinFast Ha Tinh Electric Car Factory is located in Vung Ang Economic Zone, is one of the leading advanced electric car manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and the region. After nearly 7 months of construction, on June 29, the factory was inaugurated and put into operation.
The factory covers an area of 360,000 m2 , including large workshops such as: body welding, painting, assembly; logistics warehouse and Quality Control Center. In addition, a 240,000 m2 auxiliary factory cluster is also under construction and will continue to be expanded in the following years.
The factory is invested in a synchronous system of highly automated production lines, applying technology from global partners such as ABB, DÜRR, FANUC, SIEMENS... The entire production process is operated according to strict international standards: ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and IATF 16949 (global automotive industry standards).
Regarding human resources, VinFast focuses on in-depth training for the entire team of technicians, from operating workers to supervisory engineers.
Currently, the factory focuses on producing small, high-performance urban electric vehicles, notably the VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van and new models in development. These products are optimally designed for urban traffic environments, energy-saving and aimed at young users and modern families.
In the first phase, the factory has a designed capacity of about 200,000 vehicles/year, equivalent to an average production speed of 35 vehicles per hour.
The body shop is the “heart” of the production line, where metal parts are assembled and welded into a complete body frame. This is the “backbone” structure that determines the safety, rigidity and precise shape of each vehicle.
The hull welding workshop is equipped with a highly automated robotic welding system with outstanding advantages such as: absolute precision, speed and performance superior to manual welding methods, uniform quality, safety and environmental friendliness.
The assembly plant with production lines supplied and installed by leading companies from India, integrates intelligent conveyor systems and autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) with a high level of automation. A special feature is the ability to assemble many different vehicle models on the same line, providing outstanding flexibility.
Each car is assembled from more than 2,500 main components, with the entire operation process strictly controlled. The car body after being completed at the paint shop will be automatically transferred to the assembly shop via an overhead conveyor system. 15 main lines undertake important stages such as: interior, exterior and car doors; engine and chassis assembly.
At the final assembly line, the vehicle is loaded with control software, automatically filled with all necessary fluids such as coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, air conditioning gas, and data is automatically stored on the system.
Vehicles will undergo rigorous testing at the final assembly line station.
Finally, each car will be driven on a 1km test track with 10 realistic simulated terrains, to comprehensively evaluate its performance. The sole goal of the factory is to create high-quality, safe, intelligent and environmentally friendly cars for a green and sustainable future.
