This is a content in Official Dispatch No. 933/CD-BGDĐT of the Minister of Education and Training sent to the Director of the Department of Education and Training on proactively responding to floods in the North.
According to the content of the dispatch, in the recent past, the Northern region has experienced widespread heavy rains in many localities, causing serious flooding and landslides. Some localities have suffered human and property damage. According to the assessment of the Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming time, heavy and prolonged rains will continue in the Northern mountainous region (some places over 500mm).
To proactively respond to floods and minimize damage to people and property in theeducation sector, the Ministry of Education and Training requests the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and centrally run cities to urgently implement the following contents:
Firstly, closely monitor disaster forecasts and warnings from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting; proactively coordinate with authorities at all levels to deploy response measures in case of incidents.
Second, establish a communication channel with parents to manage students, minimizing the risk of natural disasters happening to students.
Third, make plans to move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to a safe place to avoid damage. Absolutely do not organize summer activities, especially in places at risk of landslides, flash floods, or inundation.
Fourth, overcome damage caused by floods; clean up schools/classrooms immediately after floods end to ensure hygiene and prevent epidemics.
Fifth, synthesize the damage, develop a remedial plan, promptly report to the provincial People's Committee for remediation, and at the same time report to the Ministry of Education and Training for synthesis and reporting to the Government .
