Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh requested the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality, as the standing agency of the National Quality Award, to continue to more effectively implement activities related to this award.

According to the Deputy Minister, it is necessary to orient businesses to approach the National Quality Award as an important tool in comprehensively assessing the performance of the management system based on international standards. The Deputy Minister also emphasized the role of organizing sessions to share experiences and good practices from honored businesses. This activity not only spreads successful lessons but also promotes common development in the business community, demonstrating the responsibility of the winning units in contributing to building a sustainable business environment.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice President of the Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises, Member of the National Council of the National Quality Award, emphasized that the award structure has two main branches: large production - large service and small production - small service. In which, large production - large service enterprises, and especially leading enterprises, recognized by the award, play an even more important role.

Mr. Nguyen Van Toan said that one of the major challenges for Vietnamese enterprises today is that their participation in the value chain of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises is still limited, mainly in low-value segments. " Therefore, the cash flow into Vietnam is not much ," he emphasized.

According to Mr. Toan, for Vietnam to go further, there needs to be businesses leading the economy. “ An example is the semiconductor industry. Foreign investment in Vietnam in this field is a great opportunity, but the question is how Vietnam will participate to become a global semiconductor center in the future. If there are no strong enough Vietnamese businesses, international giants will only hire our workers."

He emphasized the importance of building large technology enterprises such as FPT or Viettel, which have the ability to lead. “Leading enterprises not only grow but also attract a series of subsidiaries to participate in the value chain, creating a synchronous development ecosystem ,” he said.

In addition, Mr. Toan also highly appreciated the role of the National Quality Award in discovering enterprises with high added value and potential to lead in industries and fields. “ If an enterprise achieves the standards and criteria for leadership, it is a very valuable signal for the economic development process ,” he said.

In conclusion, Mr. Toan emphasized that grasping and developing technology is a vital factor for Vietnam to make a breakthrough. “ If we want to develop, we must have leading enterprises and build a strong national brand like what Korea or China have done ,” he affirmed.
