On July 30, a leader of the Departmentof Education and Training (DET) of Dak Lak province said that he had received a request to resolve the complaint of Mr. Dang Minh Tam, a teacher at Chu Van An High School (Buon Ma Thuot City).
Mr. Dang Minh Tam sent a petition to the authorities requesting direction for the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province to resolve the complaint.
Previously, in August 2023, Mr. Tam sent a petition, reflecting that during her tenure as Principal of Chu Van An High School, Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Hue (currently Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School) had committed many violations in financial management, causing waste of facilities...
In January 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province announced the results of the verification of Mr. Tam's application. The announcement showed that Ms. Hue had committed many violations in financial and material management.
Accordingly, the receipt of the football field from former students and handing it over to the sports team for exploitation and use is not in accordance with regulations, and the assets are not reflected in the accounting books. The scholarship fund for the period 2021-2026 did not open an accounting book, did not make financial reports, and did not settle accounts with competent authorities.
Notably, many important tasks of the school such as moving the monument (more than 128 million VND), installing cameras in 3 phases (more than 380 million VND), repairing the laboratory, Ms. Hue did not consult with the school's management staff or leaders...
Disagreeing with the Department of Education and Training's announcement of some contents, Mr. Tam filed a complaint.
Regarding the football field, the verification results of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province "did not detect that the school used welfare money to support the construction of the football field".
However, when Mr. Tam requested and the school's People's Inspectorate responded in writing, the principal directed support of 50 million VND to build a soccer field!
After more than 6 months since the announcement that Ms. Hue had committed many violations but no responsibilities were taken, Mr. Tam recently continued to send a petition to the authorities requesting the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province to handle his complaint in accordance with the law, not to cover up or condone wrongdoings.
Speaking to reporters, a representative of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training said that they had planned to conduct a general inspection of the entire sector, including an inspection of the financial work of Chu Van An High School in May and June. However, due to many things such as graduation exams, surprise inspections, and additional inspections at some schools, the force to form an inspection team has not been ensured.
"It is expected that this August, the Department will establish an inspection team to clarify the contents of Mr. Tam's recommendations, creating a basis for handling individual and collective responsibilities. At the same time, respond so that Mr. Tam can feel secure with his recommendations" - a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province affirmed.
As Nguoi Lao Dong has continuously reported, in recent years (during the time Ms. Hue was principal) at Chu Van An High School, a series of violations occurred such as: teaching extra periods, cutting periods against regulations, and collecting money from parents against regulations. From 2020 to 2023, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province had to set up inspection teams many times to inspect and point out a series of violations at this school.
