On July 13, the 4th Sports Festival of the Vietnamese community in Korea took place at the Anyeong Sports Complex, Daejeon city, central Korea.
The event was organized by the General Association of Vietnamese in Korea, under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy. This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
According to a VNA reporter in Seoul, speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Dao Tuan Hung, Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese People in Korea, said that cultural and sports events, especially the Vietnamese Community Sports Festival in Korea, are not only entertainment venues but also strong symbols of solidarity, team spirit and the will to overcome difficulties of the Vietnamese community.
The tournaments not only bring memorable moments, demonstrating solidarity in the community but also help strengthen exchanges and friendship between Vietnam and Korea.

Mr. Dao Tuan Hung affirmed that the General Association of Vietnamese in Korea will strive to organize many healthy and meaningful playgrounds, helping to improve the spiritual life of the Vietnamese community in the Land of Kimchi.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea, Mr. Vu Ho, emphasized that football is not only a sport that helps improve health and brings joy, but also a strong bond between people.
This sport not only connects overseas Vietnamese in Korea but also serves as a bridge of friendship between the Vietnamese community and Korean friends.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy, Ambassador Vu Ho thanked the leaders of Daejeon city for always creating favorable conditions for the General Association of Vietnamese people to organize many meaningful events for people in the community.
On behalf of Dajeon City, Mr. Yu Deuk Won - Deputy Mayor in charge of administration - sent a warm welcome to all participants of the Sports Festival of the Vietnamese community in Korea.
He emphasized the deep relationship between Vietnam and Korea, and expressed hope that this sporting event will continue to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Mr. Yu Deuk Won introduced Daejeon as the "science capital" of Korea and pledged to make efforts to develop key industries such as aerospace, medicine, semiconductors, defense, quantum and robotics to turn Daejeon into a leading economic city.
At the end of his speech, the Vice Mayor wished the Games great success and hoped that all athletes would have memorable moments in Daejeon.
This year's sports festival brings together 18 men's soccer teams, representing typical regions across Korea.
In addition to football, there are other competitions that attract the participation of many young people in the community such as athletics, arm wrestling, tug of war...
Within the framework of the program, there are also attractive cultural exchange activities such as food booths with typical Vietnamese dishes, or lucky draw games.../.
