According to VFF, at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Jakarta), U23 Vietnam took about 1 hour to complete immigration procedures before moving to their accommodation at the Movenpick Hotel - a convenient base, about 50 minutes by bus from the airport and only about 5km from the team's training ground.
After returning to the hotel, the whole team took the opportunity to have a meal to replenish energy for the first training session in a foreign land.
To ensure the players' physical strength after the long journey, coach Kim Sang-sik decided to adjust the schedule, giving the team more time to rest and delaying practice time from the original plan.
From this point on, the Vietnam U23 team officially joins the tournament's general schedule, focusing entirely on the upcoming journey at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
The players all showed determination, confidence and readiness to take on the challenge in the regional arena.
Before going to Indonesia, coach Kim Sang-sik reduced his squad from 28 to 23 players after a domestic training session.
In the group stage, U23 Vietnam is in Group B with U23 Laos and U23 Cambodia, competing on July 19 and 22 respectively.
With two consecutive championships in 2022 and 2023, U23 Vietnam is expected to continue to successfully defend the title in the regional arena.
