(GLO)- The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 170/UBND-NNMT on improving the quality, strengthening the management, inspection and supervision of OCOP products.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to complete the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council to ensure compliance with regulations. Organize inspection and supervision of the implementation of standards on raw material areas, production conditions, food safety certification, packaging, labels, codes, barcodes, intellectual property, environment... for OCOP products when recognized. Guide and support OCOP entities to improve capacity, improve product designs and quality, develop brands and expand consumption markets.


Assign the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Health to strengthen coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to perform the state management function on product quality, food hygiene and safety and traceability of OCOP products. Strictly handle acts of commercial fraud, labeling that is not in accordance with regulations or does not ensure quality.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned communes and wards to regularly organize propaganda and raise awareness for OCOP entities on ensuring product quality associated with raw material areas, environment and food safety. Strengthen periodic or surprise inspections of business and distribution of OCOP products in the area. Resolutely recall OCOP products that do not meet quality standards, violate regulations and widely notify consumers and distribution channels. Proactively receive and handle feedback from people, the press, the community... related to OCOP products and report to competent authorities when exceeding the handling authority. Focus on perfecting the staff to continue effectively implementing programs and supporting OCOP entities in the area.
