Truong Van smoked buffalo meat (Tam Lu commune) is recognized as a 3-star OCOP product.
In order for subjects to actively participate in the "One Commune One Product" Program, Tam Lu commune promotes propaganda about the meaning and importance of the program. Select typical products and local advantages to build products that meet OCOP standards. Actively support subjects participating in building OCOP products, procedures for bank loans to invest in machinery, production equipment and ways to complete products in terms of logos, trademarks, barcode registration, and traceability stamps.
The Tinh stream duck breeding cooperative, led by Ms. Vi Thi Thuyen, Head of the Hat village Women's Association, was established in 2021 with 20 members and has now increased to 35 members. Members of the cooperative have actively participated in livestock science and technology transfer classes organized by the locality to apply in practice. Ducks are mostly raised in the wild, so the meat is fragrant, sweet, and low in fat, and is favored by many people. In 2023, Tinh stream duck products will meet the 3-star OCOP standard. This is an important condition for the product to reach far and wide in markets inside and outside the commune. Currently, the cooperative supplies thousands of ducks to the market each year.
Ms. Vi Thi Thuyen, head of the Suoi Tinh duck breeding cooperative, said: "I am very happy that Suoi Tinh duck products are recognized as 3-star OCOP products. This result is thanks to the great attention of the commune. This is the motivation for the members of the cooperative to strive to build a growing product brand. However, the product output is not stable, the promotion of product brands is limited, transportation is difficult... causing the income of the members of the cooperative to be low. In the coming time, I hope that all levels and sectors will pay attention to support so that the product output is stable, helping members increase their income and improve their lives."
Like the Tinh stream duck product, Truong Van smoked buffalo meat product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP in May 2025. This product is produced by Mr. Dao Kha Truong's family in Hau village, ensuring food hygiene and safety, with traceability, packaging, and labels. This product is made from fresh buffalo meat and marinated with spices such as chili, ginger, and mac khen. This dish not only has a delicious, rich flavor but is also a part of the culinary culture of Tam Lu commune people. Being recognized as an OCOP product has created opportunities to expand the market, creating more jobs for Mr. Truong's family and many workers in the commune.
Currently, in Tam Lu commune, there are 6 products that meet the 3-star OCOP standard, including: Truong Van smoked buffalo meat, Truong Van smoked pork, Nang Huong leaf-fermented wine (Hau village); Muong Ha bamboo chopsticks, Chang stream duck (Lau village); Tinh stream duck (Hat village). After being certified as OCOP products, the subjects have complied with the program's criteria, invested, upgraded, expanded their scale, diversified packaging designs, focused on promoting their brands, and brought their products to markets inside and outside the commune. The development of OCOP products in Tam Lu commune has created jobs for more than 70 local workers.
Mr. Pham Ba Chien, Chairman of Tam Lu Commune People's Committee, said: In the coming time, Tam Lu Commune will continue to develop the production of products meeting OCOP standards in conjunction with the implementation of the agricultural restructuring project and the transformation of the rural economic structure. At the same time, support business households with products meeting OCOP standards to promote and advertise to bring products into the retail system and distribution points in the province.
