On the evening of July 14, the Vietnam U23 team had its first training session in Jakarta after arriving in Indonesia at noon the same day to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

The training session took place on a training ground about 5km from the team's hotel. However, due to the frequent traffic jams in Jakarta, it took coach Kim Sang Sik and his team nearly 50 minutes to get to the training ground.

However, the players still maintained a serious training spirit, showing determination towards the goal of defending the regional throne.

The weather in Jakarta currently ranges from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, not too hot and quite favorable for the training process of the Vietnam U23 team.

Because the players have just traveled a long distance, coach Kim Sang Sik built a training plan mainly with light exercises to help the whole team relax and get used to the weather and field conditions in Indonesia.

At the end of the training session, the Korean coach took the opportunity to practice some more content on tactical movement, organizing offensive and defensive formations, creating a foundation for more in-depth professional training sessions in the following days.

Tomorrow morning (July 15), team leader Nguyen Anh Tuan and several assistant coaches will attend the pre-tournament technical meeting.

Meanwhile, coach Kim Sang Sik will attend a press conference before the group stage at 1:00 p.m.

The 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship will take place from July 15 to 29 in Indonesia, with the participation of 10 teams, divided into 3 groups. The teams will compete in a round-robin to calculate points, selecting the 3 group winners and 1 second-place team with the best results to enter the semi-finals.

The U23 Vietnam team in Group B will meet Laos (July 19) and Cambodia (July 22) to compete for a ticket to the semi-finals.
