Lucid Air Grand Touring - American electric car runs 1,200km/charge
Lucid Motors - an American electric car has set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance a pure electric car can travel on a single charge.

According to the official announcement, the Lucid Air Grand Touring completed the journey from St. Moritz, Switzerland to Munich, Germany without stopping to charge. The total distance achieved was 748.8 miles (equivalent to 1,205 km) – officially becoming a new Guinness World Record for “longest journey by an electric car on a single charge”. More impressively, the journey took place not only on flat roads but also included diverse terrain such as high mountain passes, highways and even rural roads. Compared to the previous record, Lucid surpassed 160 km, affirming the company's position in battery technology and energy management.
The record-breaking car belongs to the Lucid Air Grand Touring version distributed in the European market, using a full-time four-wheel drive system thanks to two independent electric motors. This configuration produces up to 820 horsepower and 1,200 Nm of torque - allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 270 km/h. The key to helping the Lucid Air Grand Touring electric sedan achieve this incredible range is its 117 kWh battery pack. According to the WLTP standard, the car is already capable of traveling 960 km per charge, but in the recent journey, it exceeded that number by 245 km - a clear demonstration of the car's extremely high energy optimization ability.
In a statement after setting the record, Lucid's chief engineer called it "a significant milestone" and "living proof of the groundbreaking technology" the company is developing. Lucid has long positioned itself as a direct competitor to Tesla in the luxury electric vehicle segment, but with this achievement, the young brand from California is showing that it has enough potential to surpass in technology. The problem of "fear of running out of battery in the middle of the road" which has been the biggest barrier that makes many electric vehicle users hesitate when switching from the habit of internal combustion engine cars now seems to be completely solved.
With cars that can travel more than 1,200 km like the Lucid Air Grand Touring, users can confidently travel long distances without being too dependent on charging station infrastructure. This new record is not only a personal victory for Lucid, but also a positive sign for the future of global electric vehicles: fast, powerful, luxurious, and no longer limited by range.
