Phi Doan Cooperative is producing effectively, creating jobs for many local workers. |
Born in 1980, Mai Phi Doan spent many years studying mechanical engineering in the lowlands. He realized that agricultural production in the area had been mechanized, but there were no production or repair facilities. People often had to work hard and increase the cost of repairing machinery and agricultural tools whenever problems arose.
After a period of accumulating experience, Mr. Doan decided to return to his hometown to start a business. “At first, many people told me to take a risk, who would do the machines, the workers, the customers... But I thought, if there were no one to do it, my hometown would never be able to improve,” Mr. Doan shared.
In 2020, the Phi Doan Cooperative was officially established (in the old Tan Tu commune, now Phu Thong commune). Initially, it was a small workshop with a few simple equipment, testing the production of some tillage machines and rice harvesters.
Thanks to understanding the needs and always focusing on technical improvement, the cooperative can now produce, assemble and repair many types of agricultural machines suitable for mountainous production conditions, such as: hand plows, tractors, tractor bodies, combine harvesters, etc.
Mr. Mai Phi Doan, Director of Phi Doan Cooperative, talked with reporters. |
Phi Doan Cooperative currently provides regular jobs for 15 local workers; of which, 10 people have full social insurance. The average income of workers ranges from 6 to 10 million VND/month.
“Thanks to the Phi Doan Cooperative being located right in the locality, I can work close to home and have a stable income. I feel lucky. Before, I had to work far away and the job was unstable,” said Mr. Vu Cao Quyen, a worker who has been with the Cooperative since the early days.
Not only creating jobs for local workers, the cooperative also plays an important role in mechanizing rural agricultural production. The cooperative's mechanical products help people save labor and increase productivity, especially during peak crop seasons.
Phi Doan Cooperative is a pioneer in the field of manufacturing and repairing agricultural machinery in the highlands. |
Mr. Mai Phi Doan, Director of Phi Doan Cooperative, said: The Cooperative has gradually expanded its market; participated in platforms and social networks to promote and introduce products as well as recruit students (inside and outside the province) who are in need of job training. On average, each month, the Cooperative sells from a few dozen to a few hundred machines, components... and repairs and maintains agricultural machines for people.
Director of Phi Doan Cooperative added: During its operation, the Cooperative received active support from the Provincial Cooperative Union (formerly Bac Kan ) and the local government. Programs to support machinery, technical training and market connections were the driving force that helped the Cooperative overcome initial difficulties. Starting a business in rural areas is not easy, but if you have passion and innovative thinking, there are still opportunities. I hope the Cooperative will continue to expand, train more young workers and produce more equipment suitable for people in the highlands.
With a methodical, effective and in-depth approach, Phi Doan Cooperative is not only a typical collective economic model but also a testament to change in the countryside, where young people dare to think, dare to do, and are attached to their homeland.
