Ca Mau: Tourism continues to maintain recovery momentum and stable development

In the first 6 months of 2025, tourism activities in Ca Mau province (after the merger) continued to maintain a stable recovery and development momentum associated with the goal of sustainable development, resource conservation and promoting the potential and strengths of eco-tourism, culture - history, beliefs and typical cuisine of the Mekong Delta region.

The estimated total number of tourists to Ca Mau is 5,120,000, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2024 (4,339,354), reaching 61% of the 2025 plan (8,400,000). Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND 4,890 billion, an increase of 16.3% over the same period in 2024 (4,204.3 billion VND), reaching 57% of the 2025 plan (8,585 billion VND).

Some specific tourism products continue to be invested in and upgraded such as: Community tourism associated with the exploitation of the Ca Mau mangrove ecosystem, the source tourism route - visiting cultural works, the house of the Bac Lieu Prince. At the same time, key tourist areas and destinations such as Ca Mau Cape National Tourist Area, U Minh Ha National Park, Khai Long Tourist Area, ecological and community tourism destinations... continue to attract tourists.

Some new eco-tourism models such as Cau Ba Field Culinary Eco-Zone, Sheep Farm Coffee, Yen Nhi Melon Garden have initially attracted tourists, creating a unique highlight for provincial tourism. Promotion and advertising activities have been stepped up, many events and traditional cultural - tourism festivals associated with promoting OCOP products and local culinary culture have been organized as planned, contributing to enriching tourism products and promoting the image of local tourism. Security, order and environmental sanitation at tourist destinations have been maintained regularly, without any unfortunate incidents.

The implementation of the tasks assigned in Official Dispatch No. 34/CD TTg dated April 10, 2025 of the Prime Minister has been carried out seriously. The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with sectors and localities to develop specific action plans, direct tourist attractions and accommodation establishments to publicly list prices, ensure service quality; establish interdisciplinary inspection teams on safety, security, and environmental sanitation at tourist attractions and widely disseminate regulations and recommendations on tourism safety to people, tourists and businesses. Promote image promotion, stimulate domestic tourism, encourage businesses and communities to participate in tourism services.

The implementation of the tourism development stimulus program has been promoted by the Provincial People's Committee. In the first half of the year, the province has issued and implemented many stimulus programs, reduced prices on accommodation services and entrance tickets at key tourist destinations, organized many cultural, artistic activities and traditional festivals to attract tourists. Enterprises, tourism businesses and tourism services have actively responded to incentive programs, linked to develop tours, diversified products; regularly maintained incentive programs for groups, families, students.

Many events, fairs, seminars promoting and connecting tourism were organized, attracting a large number of businesses and tourists to participate; promoting communication and promoting tourism images through newspapers, social networks, online tourism platforms, fanpages, provincial tourism websites; organizing survey teams for travel agencies and the press to introduce new products.

In the last months of 2025, the provincial tourism industry will focus on promoting the development of new tourism products associated with local cultural characteristics, strengthening tour and route connections with neighboring provinces; Continuing to invest in upgrading the transport infrastructure system, parking lots, stops and ancillary services at tourist areas and destinations; Promoting training and fostering human resources, especially focusing on training in foreign language skills and civilized tourism communication and behavior; Promoting tourism promotion and advertising on digital platforms, linking with reputable travel businesses; Strengthening state management of tourism, inspecting and supervising tourism service business activities, ensuring a green, clean and beautiful tourism environment.
