The signing of a memorandum of understanding between Ubon Ratchathani and Quang Tri provinces to establish friendly relations in 2024 is a good first step. Vietnam has just reorganized and merged provincial administrative units, including Quang Tri, to optimize the administrative apparatus, effectively use resources and promote socio-economic development.

This is an important change, opening up opportunities to restructure and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation programs between Vietnamese localities and the northeastern provinces of Thailand. In the coming time, the Vietnamese Consulate General hopes to coordinate to promote the friendship and cooperation between Ubon Ratchathani and Quang Tri more practically, bringing efficiency and practical benefits to the people and localities of the two countries.
