The key players of the Vietnamese team such as Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Dang and head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet did not participate in the Shanghai Future Stars tournament but went to Tam Dao to practice in preparation for the upcoming important international tournaments. Therefore, the Vietnamese volleyball team participated in Shanghai Future Stars with the second team and was led by coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa.
In the opening match against U.21 France, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa fielded a team consisting of setter Vo Thi Kim Thoa, libero Ninh Anh and hitters Nguyen Thi Phuong, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Thi Uyen, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and Pham Thi Hien.
This was the core lineup used throughout all 3 games. In game 3, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa made the only adjustment by replacing Nguyen Thi Phuong with Bui Thi Anh Thao. The Vietnamese players played solidly, in harmony and took advantage of the opportunities they had, thereby winning 3-0 against U.21 France with scores of 25/22, 25/15, 25/11 respectively.
At 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (July 14), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will compete in the second round of the Shanghai Future Stars volleyball tournament, facing the Chinese U.21 team.
