“Soften” the “thorny” topic
After more than 10 years of working as a journalist, journalist Kien Dinh ( Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television) cannot remember how many trials he has attended and reported on and how many stories he has told about the lessons behind each trial. Law - readers are considered a "difficult" topic because without enough skill and sophistication, journalists will find it difficult to exploit the story behind each trial. Journalist Kien Dinh once shared: "Each case has its own story.
In court, the story only revolved around the indictment and the people involved. Outside in the hallway, at the coffee shop in the court yard, we heard multi-dimensional stories from the relatives of both the victim and the defendant. Then from those side stories, journalist Kien Dinh connected and recounted the incident in a fair and emotional way in the newspaper to give readers something to think about, to draw their own lessons.

The courtroom stories told by journalist Kien Dinh in the newspaper are both accurate and detailed according to the case files, and warm with the information and details he collected “on the sidelines”. Sometimes, it is the image of a mother over 60 years old collapsing when watching the covered car taking her son back to prison or the bewildered look of a young wife holding her small child waiting to say goodbye to her husband who is in trouble with the law,...
Perhaps, the sentences are full of deterrence, but it is the pain that remains with the families and relatives of both the victim and the defendant that truly “touches” the readers. Through each article, readers not only know about the verdict, but also “see” the defendant “walking silently in the light from the courtroom” and “the defendant’s father collapsing on the bench before his son’s verdict”,...

“Everyone has a family and loves them. The fear of hurting loved ones or destroying existing happiness will make each person learn to avoid doing wrong things. In my articles, I only try to let readers see clearly how great the damage and loss caused by criminal acts are. That really cannot be measured by the amount of compensation or the time served in prison,” said journalist Kien Dinh.
"Turn" news into stories
In modern society, when technology can do more than we can imagine, emotions are what create the highlight, the “bridge”, attracting readers and viewers of programs. The essence of “attracting audiences” is telling a good story with authentic, coherent and emotional content.
As one of the young and dynamic reporters of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station, reporter Huynh Phong focuses on applying the art of storytelling to each of his works. In particular, as a television reporter, he focuses on being directly present at events, issues, and stories to enhance the authenticity and liveliness of the content conveyed. This emotional "storytelling" element not only helps the audience "know" the information but also deeply feel the messages that the work wants to convey.

Talking about the problem of “lack of awareness” of traffic participants , reporter Huynh Phong stood present and directly interviewed people right next to the intersection which is a “black spot”. That gives viewers a clear view of the current situation and awareness of traffic participants in that area.
Also by narrating directly, reporter Huynh Phong skillfully brings his personal experience into the story he is "telling" to the audience, thereby helping the work become closer and have more impact.
In the era of digital information explosion, journalism must certainly have many changes, however, a good story, told sincerely, whether by pen, image or interaction, will touch the emotions of readers and viewers./.
