PSG beat Real Madrid 4-0
"For me, when it comes to the Ballon d'Or, I have to say that the players who can win this award must not only score goals and make assists, but also help their team win titles.
Ousmane Dembele does those things better than any other player," coach Luis Enrique said after PSG's victory over Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final at MetLife Stadium (USA) in the early morning of July 10.

Two goals from Fabian Ruiz, a strike from Ousmane Dembele, and a late effort from substitute Goncalo Ramos secured a convincing 4-0 win for PSG over new coach Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid side.
"It's a great victory and we're very happy to be in the final," said coach Luis Enrique after the incredible victory over fierce rivals Real Madrid.
PSG enter the FIFA Club World Cup having already won the treble this season, winning Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France before beating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final to win the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.
If PSG win against Chelsea in the final at 2am on July 14, they will win every tournament they participate in this season.

"That was the goal we set from the beginning but it's always very difficult to achieve these things, very few teams can do what we're trying to do.
We only need one more game to make history for PSG and for a French club by winning every competition we participate in. That means a lot for PSG and the fans," said coach Luis Enrique.
PSG were excellent in 2025 and were such a well-oiled machine under Luis Enrique that they seemed unstoppable, while coach Xabi Alonso had only just taken over from Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid ahead of the tournament in the United States.
"It's a new arrangement for them. Coach Xabi Alonso has just arrived while we have been working together for two years, so this is normal. He needs pre-season time to work with the team. It's impossible to judge Coach Alonso too early.
These two situations cannot be compared," Luis Enrique, who was appointed PSG coach in July 2023, said of his compatriot Xabi Alonso.
