Linking training of high-tech human resources
Training high-quality human resources and skilled workers is linked to the needs of localities and businesses. This is considered an urgent requirement to meet the application of science and technology development, digital transformation and innovation. Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City National University have developed cooperation programs, aiming to develop a linkage model between businesses - institutes/schools - localities according to the needs of the province.
Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Hai Quan shared that Dong Nai has set high goals, with a long-term vision for science and technology development. To develop breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, Dong Nai must have new ways of doing things, new thinking, new actions, relying on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation to create sustainable development.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee VO TAN DUC shared that Dong Nai focuses on building mechanisms and policies to attract talents to live and work in the province. From there, improve the quality of human resources through training to meet international standards, gradually improve productivity and labor quality in a sustainable manner.

According to the Department of Science and Technology, the unit focuses on developing high-quality human resources and talents to meet the requirements of science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation; strongly promoting science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation in enterprises. At the same time, strengthening international cooperation in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
Most recently, in May 2025, the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Institute for Leadership Development (Ho Chi Minh City National University) to organize a training course to improve knowledge and capacity in microchip design, semiconductor microfabrication technology, microelectromechanical components - microsystems. These are the first bricks to build human resources with specialized capacity, contributing to making Dong Nai a sustainable digital technology industrial province by 2030.
Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Vo Hoang Khai expressed that in the context of the 4th industrial revolution taking place strongly, the fields of microchips, microelectromechanics, and semiconductor technology play a key role in the development of science and technology and digital transformation. The capacity to research, design, and manufacture microchips and microelectromechanical components not only contributes to improving national technological capacity, but also serves as a foundation for building high-tech industries, gradually mastering the value chain of local technological products.
Long-term investment for sustainable economic development
When Long Thanh International Airport comes into operation, the transport infrastructure will be expanded, and production, export and logistics activities in the province will have more motivation to develop. Therefore, to promote the potential and advantages of the locality and promote sustainable economic development, the issue of human resource training is a top priority.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tang Nghi, Head of the Faculty of International Relations, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), human resources will be the key factor determining the development and breakthrough of Dong Nai. With the advantages of strategic location, Long Thanh Airport, Phuoc An Port, etc., logistics will be one of the areas that the province needs to focus on investing in training high-quality human resources to maximize the advantages and development potential, as well as towards forming a free trade zone associated with Long Thanh Airport and Phuoc An Port in the province.
Recently, many universities have proposed and cooperated with the province to develop human resource training activities, build experimental centers with modern technology and high techniques in the locality. For example, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport has proposed to implement the Project of Research Center, Development of High-speed Railway and Training of Logistics Human Resources in Dong Nai. The project is about 55 hectares in scale, located in the educational development planning area in Binh Loc ward.
The project aims to build a national key experimental center for high-speed railways, practice, experimental production, invest in modern infrastructure and approach world technology... Thereby, serving scientific research, training human resources for high-speed railway development, aviation engineering and comprehensive logistics services.
Recently, in June 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 1576/QD-BGDDT on the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education Branch with a total area of about 9 hectares in Binh Phuoc Ward. According to the development roadmap, in the period of 2024-2036, the branch is planned with a total investment of about 341 billion VND, the expected training scale is about 5.9 thousand students, including 2.8 thousand full-time students. The establishment of this branch is not only meaningful to the school and the locality, but also contributes to realizing the goal of improving the quality of human resources for the Southern key economic region.
