Major of the People's Army Tran Gia Dai Hai visits and examines the health of Lao people

Major Tran Gia Dai Hai was entrusted by his superiors with the task of searching for, collecting, and gathering the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos to bring them back to Vietnam. In addition to regularly ensuring and taking good care of the health of officers and employees in Team QT192 to carry out the mission, Major Hai actively worked with the medical staff of Team QT192 to organize free medical examinations, medicine, and health consultations for people in the villages when Team QT192 marched to carry out the mission.

Around the beginning of December 2024, more than 10 officers and staff of Team QT192 went to Khanoong Khet Nay village, Lao Ngam district, Salavan province (Laos) to search for information about the martyrs' graves. After arriving at the village, officers and staff of Team QT192 were asking about the health and living conditions of the people when Major Hai saw Bun My, 15 years old, a villager whose right hand was swollen, showing signs of severe infection and necrosis.

While turning the tractor to work in the fields, Bun My's hand was hit by the crank, causing a very long and deep injury. Bun My's family took her to the medical station for examination, treatment, and medicine, but it did not help. After finding out the cause and thoroughly examining her, Major Hai reported to the commander of Team QT192 to ask for treatment for Bun My's wound. After nearly a month of active treatment, Bun My's right hand was completely healed. Touched by Major Hai's meaningful actions and work, Bun My's family was moved to tears, sending their thanks to Major Hai and the officers and staff of Team QT192...

When Team QT192 marched to Tuu village, La Mam district, Sekong province to organize a search for information about martyrs, Major Hai encountered another case similar to Bun My, that of Mr. Pho Phet, Chief of Tuu village. A few days ago, while clearing the fields, due to carelessness, Mr. Pho Phet had a knife cut his left leg, causing a deep wound. Although he went to see a doctor and took medicine, the deep wound became infected, causing ulcers and swelling in his leg, making it impossible for him to move...

After nearly 20 days of being examined and actively treated by Major Hai, Mr. Pho Phet's leg has completely recovered and he can walk and work normally. Mr. Pho Phet choked up and hugged Hai, saying: "If the Vietnamese military medical team hadn't come to help me, my leg would have had to be amputated. I thank you, Uncle Hai and the Vietnamese soldiers."

Major of the Military Police Tran Gia Dai Hai shared: People in remote villages of the host country still have a difficult life, the roads are not convenient, so when they are sick, they are mainly treated by folk methods using crushed forest leaves to apply, there is no medicine to drink and cure, there are serious wounds are very dangerous... When we move to the villages to search for information about martyrs, the military doctors often go to families with sick people to examine and give medicine. If the sick person is seriously ill, they will be treated, or use the vehicle of Team QT192 to help take the sick person to the provincial or district hospital for examination and treatment...

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Dung, Party Cell Secretary, Political Commissar of Team QT192, City Military Command informed: During the dry season of 2024 - 2025, when marching to Laos to search for and gather HCLS, officers and staff of Team QT192 strictly followed the regulations of the host country. Taking advantage of the holidays, officers and staff of Team QT192 did a good job of mass mobilization, helping people in villages and hamlets of the neighboring country; including sending military medical forces to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for over 500 people in the two provinces of Salavan and Sekong, treating and curing dozens of cases.

Through the practical and effective work of the cadres and staff of Team QT192, they have contributed to strengthening the relationship between the cadres and staff of Team QT192 and the people of the villages of the neighboring country. The people consider the brothers in Team QT192 as family, creating conditions for food and accommodation, sharing each bunch of wild vegetables; especially helping to guide Team QT192 to search for martyrs' graves. With the enthusiastic help of the Party Committee, government and people of Lao tribes, in the dry season of 2024 - 2025, Team QT192 searched for and recovered 10 HCLS to bring them back to their homeland Vietnam.
