Learn from Uncle Ho about love for humanity

In the ideological system that President Ho Chi Minh left behind, his humanitarian ideology is patriotism, deep love for the people that always lasts over time. Studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh, in his role as Chairman of the Red Cross Society (RC) of Trung An commune (My Tho city, Tien Giang province, now Trung An ward, Dong Thap province), Mr. Le Van Tuoi has made many important contributions to humanitarian and charitable activities, always sympathizing and helping many difficult circumstances, helping them to rise up in life.

During his work and association with the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association as its President, Mr. Tuoi always identifies “Social work” and “Humanitarian activities” as the focus of the Association's work and the communal Red Cross movement. To carry out these activities well, it is necessary to have basic and regular resources to care for the poor, the unfortunate, the lonely, and children in difficult circumstances, in order to contribute to the Party and the State in implementing social policies and sustainable poverty reduction.

Therefore, with the assigned task, Mr. Tuoi and the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association focused on mobilizing resources to care for, support, and help the poor, vulnerable groups, poor children, and students who overcome difficulties and study well in Trung An Commune.

At the same time, to increase resources to meet the support needs for people in difficult circumstances and poor households in the commune, Mr. Tuoi has consulted and, together with the Party Committee, the government and the Commune Fatherland Front Committee, mobilized small and medium-sized enterprises in the area to contribute resources to join hands in humanitarian sharing activities in the locality. As a result, after 10 years, 12 enterprises have been mobilized, with 7,000 gifts, totaling 2.1 billion VND.

In addition, Mr. Tuoi has led the Trung An Commune Red Cross Society to effectively implement the "Grains of Compassionate Rice" model. For many consecutive years, Thuan Phong Company Limited has regularly supported from 1.5 tons to nearly 5,000 tons of rice every month to give to 150 to 365 poor and near-poor household items and those in difficult circumstances in the commune (each portion is from 10 to 20 kg of rice).

To date, this model has supported 33,235 beneficiaries, with a total budget of over 9.9 billion VND and 11 poor beneficiaries with serious illnesses (from June 2024 to present), each with 10 kg of rice and 1 million VND in cash (total value of 132 million VND). This model was commended and rewarded by the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee (now the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee) in implementing the emulation movement "Skilled Mass Mobilization" in 2024.

Implementing the motto "Good life, good religion" in recent times, the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association has mobilized religious establishments in Trung An Commune to regularly participate in and maintain the monthly "charity rice bowl" of 500 to 1,000 meals for Tien Giang Mental Hospital and the local poor. In addition, it has also supported over 1,000 gifts of rice and necessities for poor households and disadvantaged families in the area, with a total cost of nearly 400 million VND.

In addition, implementing the spirit of "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", every year, the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association also supports poor and disadvantaged members from the Association's fund to do business, create more income, and help members stabilize their lives...

Responding to the annual Humanitarian Month for the Poor, Mr. Tuoi and the Standing Committee of the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association mobilized sponsors and volunteers to receive nearly 5,000 gifts to support nearly 5,000 people in difficult circumstances, affected by the epidemic, and lottery ticket sellers in the commune, worth about 1.5 billion VND.

As the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Tuoi has led the Trung An Commune Red Cross Association for many consecutive years to successfully complete its assigned tasks, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Red Cross Association, many Certificates of Merit from the Tien Giang Provincial Red Cross Association and My Tho City. Mr. Tuoi personally received Certificates of Merit from the Tien Giang Provincial Red Cross Association, My Tho City and the Trung An Commune People's Committee for many consecutive years.

And recently, at the Conference summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle organized by the My Tho City Party Committee, Mr. Tuoi was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the My Tho City Party Committee for his achievements in 10 years (2016 - 2025) of implementing Directive 05.
