Maximizing the advantages of geographical location, land fund, traffic infrastructure and eco-tourism potential. Linking economic development with environmental protection, improving the quality of life and building digital government, digital society, a government for the people, close to the people, taking people and businesses as the center of service.

Dong Phu strives to become one of the key industrial and service communes by 2030, a center for attracting investment, developing eco-tourism and modern agriculture in the province.

To realize the above goals, the commune has defined 4 strategic breakthroughs. Regarding industrial - service development, focusing on completing and putting into operation planned industrial parks and clusters with an area of over 600 hectares. Forming a large cargo transit center between provincial road 741 connecting with routes 1, 2, 3, 4 and Dong Phu - Ho Chi Minh City road, industrial parks and clusters in the region. Developing industrial support services such as: workers' housing, healthcare, education, modern trade. Developing high-tech commodity agriculture. In the immediate future, planning specialized areas for fruit trees (grapefruit, durian, avocado, rambutan), industrial trees (rubber, cashew, pepper). Regarding the development of eco-tourism and resorts, the commune will focus on planning and attracting investment in Suoi Giai Lake and Bau Cop Lake with types such as: experiential tourism - resorts - water sports.
