Hue affirms its position as 'Heritage, identity and green development vision'

In the atmosphere of the whole country looking forward to the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Hue city is urgently completing preparations for the National Achievements Exhibition - an important political and cultural event taking place from August 28 to September 5 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center, Hanoi.

With a space scale of more than 645m2, Hue confidently brings a new look, both rich in heritage, expressing the aspiration for sustainable and modern development, spreading the message "Hue - Heritage, identity and green development vision".

These days, at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ), workers in Hue city are urgently completing the final stages to complete the local exhibition space. Rough items such as: building Nghenh Luong Dinh house, stage, gate of Quoc Hoc school... have reached more than 80% progress so far and are expected to be completed on the morning of August 19. Handicraft products, paintings, and exhibits will be present in the capital on August 18 to urgently complete the entire content, serving the preliminary review and final rehearsal. During the inspection and assessment of the exhibition construction progress, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised Hue city as one of the leading localities.

Director of the Hue City Museum of History Nguyen Duc Loc said that the Hue exhibition space is designed as an open, flexible, modern space but still imbued with the art and identity of Hue. The highlight is the Nghenh Luong Dinh model - a symbolic architectural work that is both a small stage for performing Hue songs and royal court music, and a place to demonstrate traditional local crafts. The image of the Tam Toa screen (headquarters of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center) is also included in the space to introduce information, linking the depth of history with the development message of the centrally-run city.

Each category, from the Ao Dai space, traditional handicrafts, OCOP products to digital government experiences, cuisine , are all carefully prepared. When entering the exhibition space, visitors will have a comprehensive feeling about Hue from history, culture to innovation and creativity - Mr. Nguyen Duc Loc emphasized.

Hue's display at the National Achievements Exhibition includes: Photo exhibition "Hue - from ancient to modern urban areas", space "Hue - heritage city", "Hue - Ao Dai capital", experience of traditional handicrafts and OCOP products, and an area displaying smart urban models and green development. All create a harmonious whole, clearly reflecting the journey of more than 700 years of development history of the capital, from the golden past to the future of integration and innovation.

The photo exhibition “Hue - from ancient to modern city” takes viewers back in time, admiring precious documents and images of Phu Xuan land - the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, where the quintessence of Vietnamese culture converges and preserves almost intact the unique royal heritage system, honored by UNESCO. In addition to documents and artifacts, creative models bring viewers interactive experiences about heritage values in a visual and vivid way.

Along with the historical depth, the exhibition area also introduces the transformation of Hue in the integration period. The smart urban model, green development with public bicycles, tree management system, wastewater treatment, digital tourism (VR, QR, digital commentary...) shows the determination of the government and people of Hue city to unite in the process of integration and comprehensive digital transformation of the region and the country.

At the space for experiencing traditional crafts and Hue OCOP products, artisans from the ancient capital will directly demonstrate the process of making Thanh Tien paper flowers, weaving conical hats, traditional embroidery, etc.; inviting visitors to join in the practice. Through this, the public will understand the meticulousness and creativity of artisans in each product. Typical OCOP products such as Hue lotus tea, five-color cakes, talcum powder, Bao La bamboo and rattan, etc. will be introduced, affirming the sustainable cultural values that Hue has preserved and conserved to this day. At the same time, the culinary area will introduce typical dishes such as salted coffee, lotus tea, goi cakes, in cakes, fu linh cakes, etc. for visitors to enjoy and fully experience "Hue - The culinary capital".

The exhibition theme focuses on introducing and clarifying the position of "Hue - Heritage, identity and green development vision". This is an opportunity for the city to affirm its position as "Hue - Ancient capital, new opportunities", promote the image and convey the message of sustainable development on the basis of preserving cultural heritage to the public, domestic and international visitors. With the message "Hue - Heritage, identity and green development vision", Hue hopes to make a strong impression at the national exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day.

These days, ao dai designer Dang Viet Bao is often busy traveling between Hue city, Hanoi capital and over mountain passes to A Luoi mountain area to prepare for the new collection that will be launched at the exhibition of national achievements. The young designer confided that the special thing he wants to introduce to the public is the parallel beauty of the two intellectual heritages of Hue ao dai tailoring and Zeng weaving through the collection of Zeng ao dai.

Viet Bao's team of designers will demonstrate the process of sewing five-panel ao dai and modern ao dai as well as introduce the technique of creating Hue-style ao dai fabric through the displayed products. In particular, the space to experience wearing Nhat Binh ao dai for free and check-in with royal conical hats promises to inspire love for the country's traditional costumes to tourists and children.

The “Hue - Capital of Vietnamese Ao Dai” area is an indispensable highlight when talking about Hue culture, with the participation of many famous designers of the ancient capital, introducing traditional Ao Dai collections through the ages, especially the ancient and modern Ao Dai with five panels - a unique cultural symbol of the capital. The delicate designs, with the typical colors and patterns of Hue, will contribute to affirming the brand “Hue - Capital of Vietnamese Ao Dai”.

Not just a static space, Hue's exhibition area is also a colorful and lively stage for artistic interaction. Minishows, workshops, craft demonstrations, live livestreams, QR codes providing rich information to viewers... turn the exhibition into a "living museum" - where heritage and technology meet. Each area is carefully invested in both content and form of expression, ensuring scientific, artistic and cultural identity of Hue.

In particular, the Hue Art Night on the evening of September 2 at the central stage is a prominent event chaired by the Hue City People's Committee and implemented by the Department of Culture and Sports. The program is elaborately staged, recreating the quintessence of traditional performing arts of the ancient capital such as Royal Court Music, Hue Songs, Hue Folk Songs and immortal songs to affirm that Hue is worthy of being the Festival City of Vietnam and the region.

With elaborate investment in both form and content, the Hue exhibition area is expected to be a place where the glorious past and the future come together. From the image of Nghenh Luong Dinh, the five-panel ao dai, Thanh Tien paper flowers... to the smart urban model, digital tourism, all create an overall picture, both ancient and modern.
