15 ceremonial cannons were transported here last night. This morning, soldiers of Brigade 45 pasted the national flag on the cannon barrel, cleaned, installed equipment, and placed the cannons.

The artillery team has been practicing since mid-May in the suburbs of Hanoi . The soldiers are selected from the Brigade, about 1.75m tall, good-looking, qualified, and experienced in training. Soldiers in the artillery team must be brave, highly focused, and when firing must be unified, with even and beautiful movements to the national anthem within the prescribed time.

Despite the hot weather, each member of the artillery team, with deep pride in performing their duties on the country's great holiday, demonstrated high determination, solidarity, and teamwork to complete the tasks as best as possible.

The ceremonial cannons placed at My Dinh Stadium.

Each ceremonial cannon weighs several tons and is placed along the outside of the stadium. This area has been carefully surveyed to ensure a spacious, airy space with a beautiful view, solemnity, and suitability for serving the people and tourists visiting on the occasion of National Day.

The entire team is organized into 5 platoons, each platoon consists of 3 guns. When on duty, platoon 1 fires 5 rounds and the remaining 4 platoons fire 4 rounds.

Each 105mm howitzer has 3 gunners directly operating it. Gunner number 1 is responsible for pulling the trigger to fire each shot, gunner number 2 opens and closes the breech, and gunner number 3 loads the shell into the chamber. The required speed for each reload is about 3 seconds.

Unlike artillery used in training and combat, ceremonial artillery has higher technical requirements. In addition to quality and technical condition, ceremonial artillery must ensure uniformity from paint color, military equipment, equipment, sight to every spare part.

The ceremonial cannons are carefully inspected by soldiers and their parts are carefully cleaned to ensure technical safety.

The 21-gun salute is performed on important national anniversaries and is the highest salute reserved for the head of state.

Since 2010, the Brigade has carried out 9 ceremonial artillery firing missions. Of which, since the beginning of 2024, the unit has carried out 4 missions, all of which were completed excellently, ensuring absolute safety.

Veterans participating in the parade at the ceremony excitedly took photos with the artillery team.

The 45th Brigade's ceremonial artillery site will be permanently located here from now until the end of the September 2nd celebration. The unit will assign people to guard the artillery 24/7 and conduct daily artillery drills. The ceremonial artillery firing will be broadcast live to Ba Dinh Square on September 2nd.

"The All-Winning Regiment" is the name Uncle Ho gave to the 33rd Regiment - the predecessor of the 45th Artillery Brigade (Artillery Corps) today. The brigade was established on August 22, 1945, and was one of the earliest units of the Vietnam People's Army. The unit fired the opening shot of the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954 and fired the final shot of the Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975.
