Standardize operations according to international standards

The focus of the workshop was an introduction to the application of international standards in Green Port management. BSI experts scientifically systematized important sets of standards, including:

  • Integrated Management Systems: Foundational standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and ISO 27001 (Information Security) are considered the backbone for operating a modern and safe seaport.
  • Carbon Waste Management: Advanced standards such as ISO 14064 (Greenhouse Gas Inventory) and ISO 14068 (Carbon Neutral Management) are introduced as effective tools to help ports control, reduce emissions and move towards carbon neutrality.
  • Sustainability reporting: GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) reporting standards are also mentioned, helping Da Nang Port to transparently communicate information about its sustainable development activities to stakeholders.

High determination and consensus

Within the framework of the workshop, the representative of Da Nang Maritime Port Authority - Mr. Ho Phi Hung - Deputy Head of Safety Department highly appreciated the initiative and vision of the Da Nang Port Management Board in approaching the Green Port model.
