From emulation movement to improving education quality

Teachers and students of Le Loi High School look up teaching and learning materials at the school library.

Looking back over the past years, in the context of strong changes in education nationwide, Le Loi High School has faced many difficulties and challenges such as: a number of students showing signs of decreased motivation to study; some teachers have not really dared to innovate teaching methods, are not dedicated to their profession; although facilities have been improved, they are still limited compared to the increasing needs of modern education... However, thanks to the attention and close leadership of the education sector, Party committees and authorities; with the dedication, solidarity and responsibility of the school's teaching staff and especially the strength of emulation movements, Le Loi High School has gradually overcome difficulties, achieving many achievements in educational activities.

Teacher Do Thi Hong Hanh, Principal of Le Loi High School, shared: “Keeping in mind Uncle Ho's teaching: "Competition is patriotism, patriotism means competition", from the early years of the young education system, the education sector launched the emulation movement "Teach well - Study well". In the 21st century, that emulation movement was concretized through campaigns such as: "Building friendly schools, active students", "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity", "Innovation in teaching and learning"... and has been implemented very effectively. Those emulation movements and campaigns are not only reminders, but also a guideline for the school's educational activities for quality, for the progress of students, and for a comprehensively developed society".

To organize effective, practical and sustainable emulation movements, the key solution implemented by Le Loi High School is to link the emulation movement with the key tasks of the school year. According to Principal of Le Loi High School Do Thi Hong Hanh, closely following the themes and key tasks directed by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Department of Education and Training, the emulation movement launched by Le Loi High School is not outside of professional activities, but is closely linked to the quality of teaching and learning; with moral education, life skills; training results, participation in extracurricular activities of students. Each emulation movement has specific criteria, implementation time, preliminary and final summaries and is integrated into the professional plan of each professional group and each class.

In particular, the school has organized competitions in many forms: individual, collective, weekly, monthly, and semester competitions. At the same time, it mobilized the synchronous participation of the board of directors, professional groups, youth union, trade union, and parents' association as well as focused on innovating timely evaluation and reward work. In the 2023-2024 school year, Le Loi High School rewarded staff, teachers, and students who performed well in emulation movements and achieved high achievements in teaching and learning with a total amount of more than 600 million VND. In the 2024-2025 school year, the amount of rewards for staff, teachers, and students reached nearly 1 billion VND. "The timely, correct, and transparent rewards have created a great driving force for the emulation movement," said Ms. Do Thi Hong Hanh, Principal of Le Loi High School.

If the emulation movement is the "nursery", then the advanced models are the "sweet fruit". Therefore, in order to build typical models that truly have the power to spread, Le Loi High School pays special attention to the work of discovering and nurturing typical individuals. At the same time, creating a playground for typical models to express themselves and inspire such as: organizing exchanges, sharing experiences, thematic discussions, where typical models are introduced, shared and listened to. Putting images and stories of typical models and typical individuals on the bulletin board, website, school fanpage to encourage the competitive spirit of the collective...

Thanks to the good implementation of emulation movements and the building of advanced models, the quality of education at Le Loi High School has had remarkable changes. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school ranked third in the high school sector in the province with a total of 47 provincial-level excellent student awards, including 5 first prizes; in the 2024-2025 school year, the school ranked first in the high school sector in the province with a total of 47 awards, including 9 first prizes. In the 2024 high school graduation exam, 100% of students passed the graduation exam; 19 exams scored 10 points; 115 students achieved a total score of 27 points or higher in 3 university entrance exams. In this exam, in 2025, 100% of students passed the graduation exam; There were 37 exams with a score of 10, ranking first in the province in terms of the number of 10s. In particular, student Trinh Van Hieu, class 12A1, excellently won the top position in block A of the province and the second place in the country with a total score of 29.75/30 points in 3 subjects; student Le Thi Kim Chi achieved 38/40 points in the total of graduation exams, ranking second in the province and 31st in the country. From the results achieved through emulation movements, in 2024, the school was honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Government ; in 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag.

Reality has proven that successful educational units are always those that know how to properly arouse emulation movements, build advanced models to set good examples, and create a spreading influence in the community. Le Loi High School is no exception to that rule. When every teacher is dedicated to innovation, every student is inspired with the desire to progress, the emulation movement will become a continuous flow, bringing the school to reach true educational values.
