Accordingly, Ms. NTT (Group 6, Huong Phuoc Quarter, Phuoc Tan Ward) raised a male cat weighing 4.3 kg. Due to symptoms of not eating and drooling, Ms. NTT brought the cat to the veterinary clinic for treatment from August 15 to 18 but it did not recover. The cat then had a seizure and scratched and bit 4 people.

Test results from the Central Veterinary Diagnosis and Testing Center II showed that the cat had rabies.

Through an epidemiological investigation of the area surrounding Ms. T.'s household, the authorities recorded that there were 11 households raising 20 dogs and cats. Of these, 12 had been vaccinated against rabies. The authorities instructed and requested dog and cat owners around Ms. T.'s house to monitor the health and manage their family's dogs and cats, and not to let them roam freely. If dogs and cats show unusual signs, they must immediately report to local authorities and veterinary agencies.

For those who have been bitten or scratched by a rabid cat, authorities recommend that they immediately go to a medical facility to get a rabies vaccine to avoid unfortunate consequences.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries noted that cats with rabies often hide in a secluded place or cry out and are restless. When touched by someone, the cat bites very hard and aggressively, creating deep wounds. Although cats are less susceptible to rabies than dogs, once infected, the disease progresses similarly. The progression of rabies in the silent form only lasts 2-3 days, increasing the risk of transmitting the disease to humans if not detected promptly.
