On the evening of August 21, Hanoi was resplendent in lights and flags as a rehearsal for the military parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 took place at Ba Dinh Square.
More than 16,300 officers and soldiers from many forces gathered, creating a solemn, majestic and emotional atmosphere.
After finishing the general training at Ba Dinh Square, the parade groups simultaneously marched through central streets such as Hung Vuong, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tran Phu...
Each steady, decisive step of the army seemed to carry the spirit of the historic autumn days, evoking the heroic image of the nation in the journey of fighting for independence.
What was special was that along the entire journey, both sides of the road were packed with people waiting. People carrying red flags with yellow stars continuously waved to welcome the passing troops.
Many old people were moved and raised their hands in salute, calling out loudly: "Our soldiers!"
The army marched in the cheers, in the love and welcome of all the people.
The atmosphere at the intersection of Hang Chao – Hung Vuong – Nguyen Thai Hoc was as bustling as a festival. Red flags fluttered in the sky, and each group of soldiers marched past one after another, warmly welcomed by the people.
The smiles, eyes, and waves of the soldiers erased the distance between the army and the people, leaving beautiful, simple but extremely impressive images.
Especially when the female soldiers appeared, the applause became even more bustling.
The image of the decisive, strong yet graceful steps of the female soldiers became a proud highlight, lighting up the solemn yet warm atmosphere on the streets of Hanoi.
As the evening wore on, the crowd of people waiting to welcome the parade grew larger. On Nguyen Thai Hoc Street or at the Kim Ma intersection, crowds of people jostled and cheered.
As the Mobile Police Cavalry passed by, many people reached out to shake hands, their fists clenched in joy and emotion. The soldiers walked steadily, smiling gently, sending back friendly nods and waves.
Many people took advantage of the opportunity to record with their phones and cameras to preserve the rare moment. For them, witnessing the heroic army marching right through the center of the capital was an unforgettable experience.
