According to Box Office Vietnam, the film is currently ranked number 1 at the Vietnamese box office with over 4,200 screenings. On the morning of August 22 alone, the film earned about VND8.5 billion. The film's total revenue is currently nearly VND25 billion.
When it premiered, the project surpassed other outstanding works such as two foreign animated films, "Demon Slayer" and "Shin - Crayon Shin-chan".
Currently, the movie "Mang me di bo" - a collaboration between Vietnamese and Korean cinema - has fallen to 4th place at the box office. However, after its screening, the movie brought in a total revenue of nearly 170 billion VND.
Speaking specifically about the movie "Red Rain", the work is based on the famous novel by writer Chu Lai.
The project exploits the fierce battle scene at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972 - the place that marked one of the most tragic battles of the nation.
The film recreates the fierce atmosphere when tens of thousands of young soldiers had to fight in extremely difficult conditions, with blood mixed with bombs and bullets. The content not only reflects the brutal scale of war but also focuses on depicting the fate, emotions, struggles and desire to live of the soldiers.
With the spirit of loyalty to the original literary work, "Red Rain" promotes human values, praises immortal sacrifices but still puts people at the center, to see them as both ordinary and extraordinary in historical moments.
This film is considered one of the largest-scale Vietnam War films, both epic and rich in personal emotions, recording a tragic period in the nation's history.
After its release, the film received many positive responses from experts and audiences. Many viewers were moved by the early screening, considering it a project worth watching as the country prepares to celebrate National Day on September 2.
