After the merger, the agricultural land area of Dong Nai province is now more than 728 thousand hectares. With the advantage of forming large specialized areas for cultivation as well as being the "capital" of livestock farming in the country, the new Dong Nai province is expected to continue to attract many corporations and enterprises to invest in developing modern and sustainable agriculture.
Leading industrial province in developing agriculture, farmers and rural areas
Although an industrial province, Dong Nai province (old) pays great attention to investing in developing agriculture, farmers, and rural areas and is among the top in the country in developing “three agricultures”. The impressive results achieved above are thanks to the province focusing on implementing the breakthrough task of developing organic agriculture, high-tech agriculture (CNC) associated with processing industry and consumer market.
In the field of cultivation, the province has formed more than 320 concentrated agricultural production areas with about 95.7 thousand hectares. Notably, the whole province has 203 planting area codes with a total area of about 29 thousand hectares to serve the export market. Regarding livestock farming, the province's advantage is being the leader in the country in converting livestock farming towards industry, with a scale of commodity production with 65% of the total herd of pigs and chickens raised using CNC technology. Aquaculture has always maintained a high growth rate thanks to promoting the application of CNC technology in intensive farming. The most prominent is the model of white-leg shrimp farming using CNC technology. Up to now, 171 hectares of CNC intensive shrimp farming have been expanded; the average profit is about 600-800 million VND/hectare/year.
In 2024, the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production in Dong Nai province (old) will reach 50.6 trillion VND, an increase of more than 3.5% compared to 2023. In the period 2021-2025, the average growth in the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the province will reach nearly 3.7%/year.

With 448 thousand hectares of agricultural land, Binh Phuoc province (old) has many advantages in developing agricultural production, including many key crops and livestock with scales among the top in the country. Specifically, Binh Phuoc province (old) has the largest area of industrial crops in the country with more than 438 thousand hectares. Some of the largest areas of crops in the country are rubber and cashew. The total pig herd of Binh Phuoc province (old) reached nearly 2.1 million heads; the total poultry herd reached nearly 11.3 million heads.
Thanks to that, the agricultural sector of Binh Phuoc province (old) always achieves high growth. In 2024, the value of agricultural - forestry - fishery production reached more than 40.4 trillion VND, an increase of 5.5% over the same period in 2023. In particular, livestock farming has a strong shift towards industrialization, safety associated with the value chain. Thanks to that, in 2024, the production value of the livestock industry increased by 15.5% compared to 2023. The whole province of Binh Phuoc (old) also has 88 poultry farms, of which farms with cold, closed, automatic or semi-automatic technology account for more than 76% of the total number of poultry farms.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment LE THI ANH TUYET:
“Dong Nai province (old) has a long-standing agricultural foundation associated with large raw material areas and high-tech agriculture, creating a closed production chain in the fields of livestock and cultivation. Typical processing enterprises and cooperatives of Dong Nai (old) will be the focal point to connect with the raw material areas of Binh Phuoc (old), helping Binh Phuoc farmers expand production, meeting the requirements of the export market through contracts of Dong Nai enterprises. With such mutual support, when Dong Nai province first comes into operation, I believe that the agricultural sector will certainly take off in a short time.”
