This is an activity to concretize the policy of the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee on developing high-tech agriculture , building value chains and brands of agricultural products in the capital.
At the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Members of Hanoi Agricultural Investment and Development Company Limited Le Van Tuan emphasized that plant varieties are the starting link in the agricultural value chain.
In the context of Hanoi's agricultural production facing many challenges from climate change, urbanization pressure, and increasing market demands, proactively sourcing seeds, especially high-quality rice seeds, is identified as a long-term strategy.

According to the cooperation content, the two sides will coordinate comprehensively in the following areas: Transfer of high-quality crop varieties (focusing on rice, short-term crops and key crops of the region); consulting and implementing advanced, environmentally friendly farming processes; coordinating testing and building demonstration models in planned production areas; linking product consumption, moving towards building a chain of agricultural products with the capital's own brand.
The Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension is committed to prioritizing the provision of rice varieties with fragrant, delicious, and micronutrient-rich quality, suitable for consumer tastes, aiming to improve community health.

The two units agreed to closely coordinate from the stage of surveying the growing area, developing production plans, providing technical guidance, supervising production implementation, deep processing to evaluating actual efficiency. This is considered a model of linkage between key agricultural enterprises and research and technology transfer units, contributing to shortening the distance from research to production, promoting the formation of an agricultural product chain associated with "varieties - regions - markets".
Not only bringing economic efficiency, the cooperation program also aims at social security and nutrition by prioritizing the development of rice varieties and agricultural products with high nutritional value, serving the needs of safe consumption in urban areas, industrial parks, schools, hospitals...

According to the plan, in the 2025-2026 period, the two sides will focus on receiving varieties, testing, building demonstration models; training technicians and guiding farmers to cultivate according to VietGAP standards; connecting consumption with the consumption system, supermarkets and distribution chains. In the 2027-2030 period, the program will expand to processing products from varieties, such as packaged rice, functional rice; attaching traceability codes, registering OCOP and aiming for export.
Representatives of the two units affirmed that this signing ceremony is not only a procedural matter, but is the beginning of a long-term, strategic cooperation process for mutual development.
With the attention and close direction of the city's leaders, the support of specialized departments and branches, and the efforts of the participating parties, the cooperation program promises to create a new mark in the journey of building a green, smart, and sustainable agriculture in Hanoi.
