Thanh Ha lychee farmers earn over 1,100 billion VND from this year's lychee crop

This year's lychee season, farmers in Thanh Ha lychee growing communes of Hai Phong City earned more than 1,100 billion VND, an increase of about 100 billion VND compared to last year's lychee crop.

This year, farmers harvested about 38,000 tons of lychee.

By July 3, farmers in Thanh Ha lychee growing area (mainly in Thanh Ha, Ha Dong, Ha Nam communes, Hai Phong city) had basically finished harvesting lychees. These are newly merged communes, belonging to Thanh Ha district, old Hai Duong province.

This year, farmers in the above communes harvested about 38,000 tons of lychee, including about 20,000 tons of early lychee and 18,000 tons of main-season lychee. With an average selling price of VND30,000/kg, farmers earned more than VND1,100 billion from lychee.

This year, although the lychee output is higher than the previous two years, consumption is fast thanks to strong promotion from departments, branches and localities. Provincial Road 390 has been expanded and cleared, creating favorable conditions for traders and vehicles to come and purchase.

According to the leaders of the People's Committees of communes with a lot of lychee, this year, the amount of lychee exported reached about 60% of the output, the rest was consumed domestically.
