Carrying the scars of war, 2/4 war invalid Luong Van Mop, Pa Lo village, Muong Chien commune, is often sick and cannot do heavy work. His children are all married, and everyone's circumstances are difficult, so the dream of a solid house for his family is difficult to realize. In early 2025, joy came to Mr. Mop's family when the association supported 80 million VND to build a new stilt house, more than 140 square meters wide. Mr. Mop emotionally said: With the help of the Association of War Veterans, the locality and relatives, my family now has a solid house to live in. I am very happy and grateful.
LikeMr. Mop, the small stilt house of Mr. Ca Van Hon's family in Muong La commune was dilapidated and crooked. Faced with the family's difficult situation, in October 2024, the Commune Veterans Association proposed to the higher-level association to support 80 million VND. Mr. Hon happily said: In addition to the support fund, his children contributed an additional 40 million VND and the Veterans Association members and brothers in the village contributed labor to help build a 140 m² house. I thank all levels, sectors, and comrades for their help.
The emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" for household of war veterans and veterans has always been actively deployed and implemented by war veterans associations at all levels in the province. From 2023 to present, war veterans associations at all levels in the province have supported and repaired 331 temporary and dilapidated houses for members, with a support budget of 50 to 80 million VND/house, ensuring a minimum area of 32 m² and meeting the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard frame, hard roof).
Most of the funding to support house construction is drawn from the “Comradely Love” Fund and is contributed by cadres and members, mobilized by the “Excellent Production and Business Veterans” Club at all levels; Veterans' businessmen in and outside the province; and mobilized in coordination with socio -political organizations. In addition, the association at all levels also mobilizes members to contribute labor days and available materials to help families build houses.
Mr. Dinh Minh Thai, Head of the Working Committee of the Association of War Veterans, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, said: In the spirit of "Whoever has something contributing, whoever has merit contributing, whoever has property contributing", the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for members of the Association of War Veterans and former soldiers has been effectively carried out. Up to this point, the Association has essentially temporarily eliminated and dilapidated houses for members.
Each house built not only helps war veterans and veterans overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives, but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of Uncle Ho's soldiers. In addition, war veterans' associations at all levels in the province also support members in accessing preferential loans; build funds to help members develop production, implement poverty reduction models; mobilize war veterans' businesses and entrepreneurs to have solutions to support children of war veterans, war veterans and local people to have jobs and stable incomes to improve their lives, contributing to building new rural areas.
