In 2019, after a trade promotion trip to Guangxi (China), Mr. Dao Duy Khanh, Director of Duy Khanh Trading Joint Stock Company boldly brought back 2,000 grape trees to plant on an area of over 5,000m², hiring foreign experts to directly transfer techniques for a year.
Mr. Khanh shared: With the orientation of safe production in the organic direction, the Company invested in building greenhouses, transparent nylon roofs, making sturdy climbing frames, covering with tarpaulin to retain moisture, and pruning the fruit periodically to ensure that the grape clusters are even and of uniform size. During the production process, absolutely no herbicides or chemical pesticides are used, and nutrition is enhanced with organic fertilizers and environmentally friendly biological products.
After 5 months of actively applying techniques in planting and caring, the vineyard began to bear fruit. Each harvest yields about 10 tons of fruit, with prices ranging from 130,000 - 180,000 VND/kg, consumed mainly through traders in the provinces, while also meeting the needs of ordering and delivering to retail customers. After deducting costs, the vineyard generates a profit of over 1 billion VND/year. Not only does it increase the value of the crop, the model also creates stable jobs for 6 local workers and 10 seasonal workers.
Ms. Lo Thi Tien, Phuong village, Chieng Sinh ward, has been attached to Duy Khanh vineyard since the early days, saying: Before, farming was a very precarious life because it depended entirely on the weather, and income was unstable. Since switching to working in the vineyard, her income has been stable, taking care of her children's education.
At this time, the vineyard is in full bloom, Ms. Lo Thi Huyen, To Hieu ward, and her family are enthusiastically choosing and cutting the bunches of grapes they like, capturing memorable moments. Ms. Huyen shared: The air here is so fresh and cool, the bunches of dark purple grapes are plump and sweet, picked and enjoyed right in the garden by hand, a very different feeling. The whole family feels relaxed, happy and immersed in nature.
The appearance of the black grape garden of Duy Khanh Trading Joint Stock Company in Chieng Sinh ward not only contributes to enriching the province's agricultural products, but also opens up a new direction of combining agricultural production with the development of experiential tourism.
