Director Chung Chi Cong once made an impression with the film “Troi sang soi ta ngu di xoi” with emotional indie music and many songs in which he wrote the lyrics. From here, music has become an inseparable “private language” in the film world of the male director. Not only in films, this strength is also clearly demonstrated through short film advertising projects that have “created waves” such as “Song Nhu y”, “Together with Tet”, “Loi hu is not familiar”...

With “Thank you for staying awake with me”, director Chung Chi Cong continues to exploit his familiar strength of telling family stories in a poetic cinematic language, imbued with Vietnamese spirit, combined with characteristic musical colors.
Sharing about his second film, director Chung Chi Cong said: "When we become adults with many responsibilities, we often tend to put our dreams aside. That putting aside can become very long and never come back. The film I want to make is a tribute to unfinished dreams and a hope that someone, one day, can continue that unfinished journey."
Director Chung Chi Cong said that he wanted the second film to be a hope to continue the emotional flow of “It's morning, let's go to sleep”, but in the opposite direction. If before it was an invitation to leave the world behind to go to sleep, now it is a word of gratitude to those who chose to stay awake with him. A name that is both inherited and has a new and mature look in Chung Chi Cong's very own color.
"The title of the film "Thank you for staying awake with me" is my sincere gratitude to those who "stayed awake" to accompany me on the 6-year journey, from the first days with my first film. They are the great inspiration for this film title," director Chung Chi Cong shared.
As gentle as a letter, as profound as a song, “Thank you for staying up with me” brings the audience a warm story about family love and the dreams and ambitions in each person.
Scheduled to premiere in February 2026, the film is expected to become a "new breeze" of Vietnamese cinema with a unique musical film genre.
